The shouting in Alpha Donk's office seemed to go on forever. I stood there, my heart pounding so hard I thought it might burst out of my chest.
Finally, Alpha Donk slammed his fist on the desk. "Silence!" he roared.
Everyone fell quiet, their eyes darting between Alpha Donk and me.
He glared at me, his face red with anger. "You dare to make demands? After everything you've done?"
I swallowed hard but forced myself to meet his gaze. "I'm not trying to cause trouble, Alpha Donk. I just want to help my friend."
The rebel woman who had spoken earlier stepped forward. "Perhaps we should hear what she has to say. If her information is valuable..."
Alpha Donk cut her off with a growl. "This is still my castle, and she is still my servant. She'll speak when I tell her to speak."
