Chapter Eleven Casting a glance at the gray sky, Jasper blew out a breath. Evelyn had done well yesterday during her inaugural ride in the P-51. Her landing had been bumpy, but better than most first-time pilots of the plane. More proof she was an exceptional pilot, one of the best he’d seen, and that included his male compatriots. Very little flustered her, and she seemed to take difficulties in stride. She’d been like a child on Christmas morning when they’d approached the aircraft. If he hadn’t been around, she would probably have skipped the entire distance. He smiled at the memory of the joy on her face when she’d slid into the cockpit.
