In the morning, everyone met outside the rogue center and I felt their sadness. It was a big day for all of them. They had to shun Margaret the same way they shunned me all those years ago. I knew the pain she would be feeling after being rejected by her family, and I could only guess the pain she would be feeling after being rejected by her mate.
She looked a little rabid when we walked into the passage and I could see that my sister was having a very hard time with this decision. I wanted to ask her if she was okay. I wanted to comfort her the way a sister would, but I couldn’t. I still couldn’t bring myself to join them as one family. The wounds they made were just too deep.
