As usual, my mother went completely overboard! Everywhere you looked, there were multi-coloured balloons and decorations that made it look like I was turning one instead of eighteen! I sighed deeply, moving away from the window. I was already so damn nervous that I was sweating like a pig. Staring at the decorations was just going to make it more difficult!
“Why did she have to tell me?!” I rolled my eyes, and flopped down on my bed. The tie strangled me and all I could think was that might just be the relief I was looking for. If I died now, it would all be over. I wouldn’t have to live with that prophecy over my head! It was worse than having to be in an arranged marriage!
