Caleb and I were concerned about this sudden appearance of an abandoned red-eyed baby, but David assured us, and he had proof that the council did everything they could to find the parents first. Nobody came forward. Besides, who would ever admit to leaving a child out in the forest like that?!
Zoe handed me the little girl and I had to admit that she was adorable. I felt nervous about the entire thing, but it wasn’t the little one’s fault that it happened the way it did.
