“I would like to take her to my territory and continue working with her.” Shay frowned as she finally left Margaret’s room a short while later.
“I can’t let her out of there! What if she hurts someone?” I gasped, not believing what I was hearing.
“She won’t. Besides, I didn’t mean right away. I want to spend some time with you and Caleb before returning home. I’ve missed out on so much that I’m in no rush to go back home, sweetheart.” Shay’s eyes turned softer, and she smiled, making me feel strange. I had never felt what a mother’s love felt like, and it sent a shiver down the back of my spine.
