Over the next couple of days, I fought the urge to mate with her while trying my best to ease her pain as much as I could. One thing became abundantly clear, however. Once she was better, we had to have a talk. I wouldn’t be able to hold back when she went into heat again. Watching her like that was driving me and my wolf to the brink of insanity.
Not just me, but every male in our vicinity that was single! I could feel the entire pack breathe a collective sigh of relief when her fever finally broke on the third day. Her heat would only grow stronger each time, which meant we didn’t have any more time to waste on getting to know each other.
I left her in the capable hands of Susan and the new omega while I took a very long cold shower.
