11 That's impossible

Robert taught me that the other realm is the supernatural universe, and the seven kingdoms are like the seven continents, but each continent has its own leader, like a king, each continent has many covens, covens would be like a town, each town has a group of council members with one in charge, like a mayor, these council members are there to make sure every supernatural being is looked after, that no one breaks the rules, but in the end it is the kingdom leaders who are in charge, and they make the rules, the council members have a set of additional rules if they wish. For example Thomas had an additional rule, no women on the council, go figure. When we walked into the other realm, I felt different, more powerful, but at peace, like I was home, Robert had explained that, that was to be expected, it was a pull I would feel towards the kingdoms, the fact that I was to rule the seven kingdoms made the pull stronger, he had explained that my need to protect the other realm and its occupants would also grow with time, I was looking forward to that, if my need to protect Thomas grew I wouldn't like it, but Robert assured that at the end of the day hate does win against love, if you hate someone with every fibre of your being you can't love them enough to protect them, I prayed to God that was true. People stared and talked amongst each other as I walked past them towards Thomas's office, I still held James's hand, weather it was for support, or fear of loss I didn't know. We finally reached the mansion which housed his office, when we walked in I saw the statue of the centaur, with the unicorn horn on his head, I stopped in front of it to admire it, I hadn't been able to do so last time "This was Abraham" James began "over seven thousand years ago a man saved a horse, what he thought was a horse turned out to be a unicorn, he took the horse home and he and his pregnant wife took care of it, and nursed it back to health, the pregnant woman gave birth to a little girl, as a thank you for helping him, the unicorn blessed the girl with magical powers, and thus giving birth to the first witch, Evangeline, the original witch, now legend has it that she had all the powers, every power you could imagine, she could also talk to animals, and she was a great friend to the unicorns, so when the witch found out the humans were attacking unicorns for their blood, which has the power to heel, she decided to give unicorns the ability to fight back, the humans that attacked them were searching for immortality, and the unicorns needed the ability to fight so the witch merged them together, giving those humans immortality, they say these uni-taurs still exist, Abraham here founded this coven, the heads he holds represents the evils that may befall the coven" James finished his story with his hands crossed, I loved the story, it was fascinating. We decided to carry on towards the office, remembering where the office was, I knocked on the door "Enter" came a voice full of authority, I opened the door ready to walk in, but James stopped, I pulled him, letting him know he was coming with me, Thomas furrowed his eyebrows at me "I recognise you, you were supposed to be initiated, but you didn't show, hmm, you may leave this coven, this kingdom, and never return" he said with anger, this kingdom? he wasn't in charge, who the hell did he think he was? I was angry, I flexed my fingers, ready to break some bones, all I had to do was straighten my fingers, and keep them tight, then think of the bone I want to break, then bend a finger, the bone I thought of would break, I was about to break his kneecap, but I felt someone touch my hand I looked to my right to see Robert, he shook his head. "Tell him you were already initiated" Robert told me, I wanted to ask him where he'd been, but that was a conversation for later. "Actually, I was initiated, two days ago actually" I told him smugly. "Impossible, you cannot be initiated without my permission, and I wasn't there, you lie, that is punishable" he threatened "I'm not lying, and what will you do?, kill me?" I said in a menacing voice, he was going red now, out of anger, and I just looked smug "Tell him to check the record" Robert whispered "Check the record, if you don't believe me" I told him, he shook his head but he held out his hand, Palm facing up, a book appeared in his hand, as if he'd conjured it, I stole a glance to my right and Robert just nodded as if to say it's okay, don't worry, he opened the book, read something, slammed it shut, and threw it on his desk, he leaned forward, his hands on the desk "Long?, I thought you said your name was Webb?" He seemed confused, "Ahhh yes, one of the reasons I was not able to attend my own initiation, I found out the Webbs adopted me, my real parents were the Longs" it saddened me everytime I thought of the fact that my parents were dead. "Long?, Long, the name where have I heard it?" He was looking around the room as if searching for the answer, to remember, then he gasped, "That's impossible, you can't be, you're, you're Edward's daughter?, how?" He looked a little worried "Its true, Edward was my father, but you killed him, he hid me because he knew you would try and kill me" he threw his hands up in the air "So what now? You're going to kill me instead? Take over the coven? Is that it?" He was shouting now, I just shook my head "I have no desire to be leader" I shouted frustrated even though my own heart was fighting me, every thought was telling me this office was mine "all I want is to stay here, in the coven, where my parents stayed, maybe even stay in the house that was theirs?" I asked getting a little excited. Thomas shook his head "A family already live in that house, unless of course you would like to get rid of the family?" He now looked smug. My shoulders slumped, where would I stay, I didn't want to go home, everytime I thought of home my heart ached, this is where I belong, to go back to the mortal world would kill me. "She can stay with me" James spoke, I'd forgotten he was there, I smirked at Thomas "Well, I don't think that's a good idea, Mr Cooper...." "I think it's a great idea" I piped up, knowing that Thomas would probably try to compel him. "We must be off" I told him, I turned to walk away but Thomas stopped me "Wait, tell me who initiated you" he was pleading, with a smile I turned half way with my hand on my hip "I'll give you a clue" I told him I could see Robert shaking his head vigorously, probably giving himself whiplash, can ghosts get whiplash? "How many women are on the council? Because it was a man that initiated me" Robert seemed to breath a sigh of relief, his hand on his heart, do ghosts even have a heart? "There are no women on this council!" Thomas shouted, slamming his hand onto the desk "Well then, we do have a problem, don't we, think hard Mr Birch, you just might figure it out" I told him with a smirk with that we started to walk away again "As the leader of this council, I command you leave this coven" Thomas announced behind us, out of rage "He can't do that, you're higher than him" Robert whispered, telling me what I already knew, I turned my face to him "No, actually, I don't think so, I think I'll stay, of course, if you want to leave, you're more than welcome to" I smiled but then in a manacing voice I added, "this is my coven, and I'm staying" I told him then we left, leaving him to think about what had happened, as soon as the office door closed behind us I blinked to the bench where James and I had first met, I sat down on the bench, I brushed my hands through my hair, I was so angry I wanted to kill him, I wanted to go back and break every bone in his body, I wanted to watch him scream in pain, how dare he? How dare he talk to me like this? He had no right, I wanted to punish him. James appeared next to me and gave me a sideway hug, he hugged me for a while, whilst I calmed down. Robert appeared now "Are you okay?" Robert asked "No" I sniffed as I sat up properly on the bench "I'm not okay, Robert, far from it, I'm dying" I said seriously, to which both men furrowed their eyebrows confused "my memories, I mean, they're dying, I don't remember my birthday, I don't remember my parents birthday, but Annabelles family? I remember everything" I was full on crying now "I can't remember my best friends name, the name of my first crush is a mystery, Annabelles memories are taking over, and the only way to fix this is to kill Thomas, and I can't just kill a man, no matter how angry he makes me" I sounded defeated "Come on, let's get you home" James offered "No" I shook my head "I don't want to go to the mortal world" "I'll take you to my place" James whispered I nodded my head we stood and started walking, I walked awkwardly with my head buried into James's side, he had his arm wrapped around me. My head hurt everytime I tried to think about my world, my life, Annabelles memories were taking over, and I was terrified, I didn't want to forget my life, my family, but it was happening.
