My family came to see me graduate. After graduation, Owen and I packed up our apartment. Our dads helped us. I finished packing the last of my things as Dad came into the bedroom.
“Do you have everything?” He asked me.
“Yeah.”
“Please tell me you aren’t bringing home that Paris girl.”
“Yeah, Paris broke up with me when she found out I’m deaf.”
My dad arched a brow.
“It’s a blessing in disguise.”
“How?”
“Now I don’t have to listen to her nasal voice talk about bullshit.”
Dad laughed. “You haven’t changed since you were a kid.”
I smirked. We finished and left the apartment. I came out to see my brothers standing there. They grinned as I walked over and hugged them.
“We can’t wait until you’re home,” Nate said.
