Larissa and I progressed in our pregnancies. Britt, Sam, and I talked to Dad. He told us he sought therapy for his issues. My dad worked at developing a relationship with us. Matt watched my dad when he came around us. I couldn’t blame him.
Elias grew close to my dad. Leave it to our son to throw a wrench into a situation. Michael and Lyric got to know my dad and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Nate’s death showed us to move forward and let go of the past.
One time, I caught Elias in the cookies. He gave the cookie to my dad, who shoved it in his mouth.
“What was that?” I asked.
“What was what?” My dad asked with a mouthful of cookies.
“I didn’t let you back into my life to corrupt my son.”
Matt walked over and grabbed two cookies
