I finished the project and was nervous about it. I didn’t know how Matthew’s family would like it.
“Are you okay?” Matthew asked me.
“Yeah.”
Matthew gave me a look.
“Okay, I’m afraid your family won’t like my gift.” I fidgeted with my hands.
Matthew covered my hands with his hand. “Relax. I’m sure they’ll love it.”
I gave Matthew a slight smile. He pulled in front of the house, and we got out of the car. He took my hand and led me into the house. His family greeted us as we made our way around the house.
“Look what the cat dragged in,” Presley said, hugging me.
“Thanks a lot,” I said, rolling my eyes as Presley laughed.
