My boss called and asked me to cover an afternoon shift, giving me a shift premium. I agreed because I needed the money. Matthew disagreed and said he would help me. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the offer, but I got used to doing things for myself. Plus, I wanted to make my home cozy.
When you buy a home, you want to make it your own. I did it on my own, without regard for anyone. My accomplishment made me proud.
The following day, I slept in while Matthew had gone to work. I got ready and ate before I started my shift. It was a bonus not to see Steven. The downside was my shift ended at 11 pm.
