Shattering heart

Episode 2

Burcu was getting ready. She was binding her hair. Today was her interview. Yesterday she got a call from a famous company for interview. She was wearing official clothes for that interview. She wore white colour loose shirt with a long coat which colour was black. She was wearing a black colour loose pant. She was covering from head to toe. No one could guess her body's structure because of her loose clothes. She always liked to dress up like that, decent clothes. She was nervous about her interview. She was ready to leave. She took her bag and then came out from her room. Melisa Yilmaz was sitting on the lounge room. She was drinking tea. Aslan wasn’t at home. He was in his school. Melisa looked at her daughter with smile. She kept her tea's cup on the table and got up from the couch. Burcu went near her. Burcu instantly said out, “ Mom, I am feeling so nervous. Please, pray for me. If I get this job then it will be good for us. I am just praying to God to help me.” Melisa said out, “ You are looking nervous. Just calm down. Everything will be fine. God will help you.” Burcu instantly said out, “ Mom, that Eren company is a big company! I just hope I would get the job.”

Burcu was sitting outside of the interview room. She was waiting in the lobby area. She looked at her hand's watch. It was 11:00 a.m. 10 candidates already gave their interview and left from there. Burcu was feeling nervous. About 6 people were sitting there. They were waiting to give their interview. Burcu looked towards the candidates. They were looking more capable than her. This was a competitive interview. After few moments, Burcu got the call for interview. She went towards the interview room with nervousness. She tried her best to make her confident. She had to get that job. She could do that. She knocked on the door for permission. One man told her to come inside. Burcu opened the door and entered into the room. It was a big room. There were 2 middle age man and 1 middle age women. Burcu became little shock because of one man. Two days ago, she saved a middle age man from that flower vase accident. That man was sitting in the middle chair. That man smiled a little after seeing her. Burcu said to everyone, “ Hello, sir.” That man said out with little smile, “ You may sit Ms. Burcu.” Burcu sat on a chair. She was feeling little nervous. Before anyone could say anything that man said out, “ Ms. Burcu. Few moments ago, I checked your CV. It was impressive. You have good qualification background. Even you have one and half years working experience. You worked for a good company in London. May I know why you came back in Turkey? You could work in there. Or you couldn’t?” Burcu said out, “ Actually sir, my family is here. I didn’t want to stay away from them for long time. I didn’t want to stay away from my country. That’s why I came back here.” That man said with little smile, “ This is impressive! So, you love your family and our country. That’s why you came back here.” Burcu said out, “ Yes, sir.” That man instantly said, “ Then can you work in our company with honesty? Can you join from tomorrow?” Burcu said with confusing tone, “ Sorry, sir.” That man said with little smile, “ I selected you. You can join our company. Can you join from tomorrow?” Burcu couldn’t believe in her ears. She was selected! She could work in Eren company! Burcu said out with nervous tone, “ Yes, sir. I can join from tomorrow.” That man said with little smile, “ I saw in your CV that you applied for Assistant accountant for our technology department. I think you are more qualified. You have good qualification background. And the most important thing is I think you are honest. I think I can trust you Ms. Burcu. You will join as the assistant advisor in our head department.” That middle age female women instantly said out, “ But sir, she had only one and half years working experience. That post needs at least 10 years experience. She isn’t qualified for that post.” That man said out, “ I selected her. I think she is qualified.” That women instantly said, “ But sir, we already arranged interview for that assistant advisor post. Tomorrow we will take interview for that post. We already sent emails to the selected candidates. They will come to our company to give the interview.” That man said out with irritating tone, “ You can cancel the interview. You just have to do that. Call at their phone, and tell them we cancel the interview. We don’t need assistant advisor. Do I have to tell you how to cancel the interview? You are working here for many years. You should use your intellectuality Ms. Selena.” That women remained silent.

Burcu came out from a taxi. It was 8:10 a.m. Her office would start from 8:30 a.m. It was her first day. That’s why she came early. She started walking towards her office building. It was a huge building in that area. After all it was Eren company. Eren company was a reputed company in Turkey. Even that company was famous in Europe. Suddenly Burcu noticed that middle age man came out from an expensive car. He started walking towards the office building. That man also noticed Burcu. Burcu stopped her walking. She was standing. That man went near Burcu and stood in front of her. Burcu said with little smile, “ Thank you sir for yesterday’s interview. You selected me. That’s why I got this job. I will work honestly and I will do my best.” That man said with little smile, “ You don’t have to thank me. You are qualified for this job. I know you are a good person. You saved me that day. I could die or get wounded because of that flower’s vase. I am thankful to you.” Burcu said out, “ I didn’t save you. God saved you. By the way sir, are you working in head department? I mean are you the manager of head department?” That man said with smile, “ You may say that I work in every department. Don’t you know who I am? [Burcu remained silent. She didn’t know him. That man said out with smile] That’s good, you don’t know me who I am. You came to my company to give interview but you don’t know me. I am Hamit Eren. I am the head of Eren company.” Burcu said with disbelief expression, “ You are Mr. Hamit Eren! [Hamit Eren nodded his head. Burcu said out] I am so sorry. I didn’t know that you are Hamit Eren.” Hamit Eren said with smile, “ It’s okay. By the way, did you yesterday sign the contract papers of our company?” Burcu said out, “ No, they told to me that I have to sign the contract papers today.” Hamit Eren said out, “ Best of luck.” Burcu said with little smile, “ Thank you sir.” Hamit Eren started walking towards the office building.

Burcu was sitting inside the waiting room of Eren company. One female employee was sitting in front of her. She gave some papers towards Burcu. Burcu took them. She said out, “ Read the papers carefully and then sign it. If you join our company then you cannot leave our company before 1 year. If you leave before 1 year then you have to pay 1 million.” Burcu said with disbelief tone, “ Huh! 1 million!” That female employee said out, “ Yes, you have to pay 1 million as fine. You cannot leave our company before 1 year. After all you will work as an assistant advisor in our head department. That post is an important post in our company. You cannot leave this job before 1 year. If you want to join our company then sign it. After that you can work in our company.” Burcu released a deep breath. She needed that job. It was really a good job for her. She could help her mother to run the family. Aslan needed good education. She wouldn’t leave that company easily. So, it wasn’t big deal to sign the contract papers. Burcu started checking those contract papers. After reading those papers she signed on them.

Burcu, Aslan and Melisa were eating dinner on the dinning table. Aslan said out, “ Aunty, you got a job. Now what you will give me? I want a gift.” Burcu said with smile, “ You want a gift? [Aslan nodded his head.] Okay, I will bring a gift for you.” Melisa said out, “ Aslan, you have to concentrate on your study. Otherwise your aunty will not bring gift for you.” Aslan said out, “ I always concentrate on my study.” Burcu said, “ Aslan is a good boy. He is serious about his study. Am I right Aslan?” Aslan nodded his head. Aslan said out, “ Aunty, when you will bring my gift?” Burcu said with little smile, “ Tomorrow.”

Burcu was sitting inside a meeting room. About 10 office stuff were present there. They were present there for an important meeting. Meeting still didn’t start, they were waiting for their boss. Hamit Eren’s eldest son Kerem Eren would come to attend this meeting. They were waiting for him. Burcu was talking with the assistant manager of their head department. Their head department's assistant manager’s name was Atlas. He was a young man. He was such a talented person. Burcu was working in the office for 2 weeks. Atlas was friendly towards her. He was such a gentleman. He helped Burcu for some works. Suddenly Kerem Eren entered into the meeting room with his secretary. Everyone got up from their chair. Burcu also got up from her chair. It was the first time she saw him. He wasn’t in Turkey. He went outside of Turkey for a business trip. She heard about him in the office. Everyone praised about his talent. Especially the female employees. Everyone said that he was a hard working person. He loved his works so much. He was the most eligible bachelor in Turkey. Kerem Eren told everyone to sit. Everyone sat on their chair. Kerem Eren also sat on his chair. His secretary sat beside him. Kerem Eren said out, “ Because of my business trip I had to postpone this meeting. Now I am here. [Kerem Eren looked towards Atlas. He said out] Atlas, did you check that technology project?” Atlas nodded his head. He instantly said out, “ Yes, sir. I checked that project. I think that project will be beneficial to us. I already talked with our experts. They said to me that it would be beneficial for our company. You should review that project.” Kerem Eren said out, “ Okay, I would review that project. But you know that we would get only 50% profit from that project. Sunshine company would take 50% profit. I wanted more profit. At least 60%.” Atlas said out, “ They wouldn’t agree. You know very well it was their proposal. They would never give us 60%. Our company is a famous company. That’s why they wanted to work with us. I think it will be win win situation for us. You should think about this project sir. Sunshine company is now a reputed company for their latest technology devices. If they join their name with our company then the whole Turkish technology market will be under our control. Our technology devices will be number one. Even we can export them in Europe. Our brand is already popular in Europe.” Kerem Eren said out, “ You are right. But I have to think about this project.” Kerem Eren talked with few senior stuffs about this project. Then suddenly he noticed Burcu. Burcu was sitting beside Atlas. After a while Kerem stood up from his chair and left from the meeting room. Atlas looked towards Burcu and said out, “ Mr. Kerem Eren always serious about his work. He could view the future marketing circumstances. By the way, from today you will see him in our office. You could see his seriousness in his works. So, be careful. I always have to do lot of works because of him.” Burcu said out, “ Mr. Atlas, are you making me scared? I am also serious about my work.” Atlas said with little smile, “ Yea, I know that. I am just saying that you have to struggle here to make your own position. If you work sincerely then soon you will get promotion. I already noticed that Hamit Eren was impressed with your work. He praised about you. You should work hard because you are an assistant advisor. By the way, thanks for help me out today. You helped me to review this technology project.” Burcu said with little smile, “ It was my duty.”

Burcu was walking inside a park with Aslan. It was 7:00 a.m. Today was Burcu’s off day. Aslan wanted to do morning walk. That’s why Burcu brought him there. They were walking inside that park. Suddenly Burcu noticed Hamit Eren. He was sitting on a bench. Burcu hold Aslan’s hand. Then she went towards Hamit Eren. She stood near him. Hamit Eren looked at her. Burcu said with little smile, “ Hello, sir. Good morning!” Hamit Eren said with wide smile, “ Good morning. Did you come here for walk?” Burcu nodded her head. She said out, “ Actually my nephew wanted to do morning walk. That’s why I brought him here.” Hamit Eren looked towards Aslan. He was standing behind his aunty. Hamit Eren said to Aslan, “ Hello, little boy.” Burcu said to Aslan, “ Aslan, greetings him.” Aslan said out, “ Hello.” Burcu instantly said, “ Sir, did you also come here for walk?” Hamit Eren nodded his head. He said out, “ Sometimes I come here for morning walk. Actually my wife came here with me. Both of us would walk for 20 to 30 minutes. Sometimes I came here with her. She liked this place. But now she isn’t here.” Burcu said with questioning tone, “ Where is she?” Hamit Eren said out, “ She left this world.” Burcu said out, “ I am sorry, sir.” Hamit Eren said out, “ I was so young when I married her. She was also so young. She gave me a family. Then suddenly one day, she left me alone. She left this world. My children are busy with their life. Sometimes I feel so alone. Burcu, can you sit here? Can we talk for a while?” Burcu nodded her head. Burcu sat on that bench. Aslan stood near her. Hamit Eren started talking with her. Burcu also talked with him. After a while Hamit Eren said out, “ This Wednesday is my birthday. My family is going to arrange a small party in our home for that. I am inviting you. You have to come.” Burcu said out, “ Sir, I am just an employee. How could I go there?” Hamit Eren said with little smile, “ I am inviting you. You have to come. You are not just an employee for me. You saved me from an accident. You are like my daughter. I will wait for you.” Burcu said with hesitation tone, “ But sir..........” Before Burcu could complete her words Hamit Eren said out, “ You have to come Burcu. I am your boss. Don’t forget that.”

Burcu came out from a taxi. It was 7:00 p.m. She went towards a big gate. She looked at a house. Actually it was a big mansion types house. It was Eren family’s house. She came there because of Hamit Eren. He requested her to come. Even today at the office he told her to come at his home. Eren house was shining because of various colour's of light. Eren's house was decorating because of Hamit Eren’s birthday. Burcu stood near the gate. A security guard looked towards her. Burcu was wearing normal clothes. She came from her office. But still she was looking pretty and decent. She was wearing a pink colour t-shirt with a black colour blazer. She was wearing a black colour long skirt. Her body was covered from head to toe. Burcu said to the security guard, “ I work in Eren company. Mr. Hamit Eren told me to come here. Can you just inform him?” That security guard said with questioning look, “ May I know your name please?” Burcu said out, “ Burcu. Burcu Yilmaz.” That security guard said, “ Okay, just wait here for 2 minutes. I am going to call Hamit sir.” Suddenly Burcu’s mobile phone ringing out. She instantly took out her mobile phone from her bag. It was her mother. She received the call. Melisa Yilmaz instantly said out, “ Burcu, did you reach at Eren house? Don’t stay there for long time.” Burcu said out, “ Mom, I am outside of their gate. Don’t worry about me. I will leave from here within half an hour.” Melisa Yilmaz instantly said, “ You are a young girl. I should worry about you. You shouldn’t go there.” Burcu said out, “ Mom, you know very well I don’t like all this party stuff. I just had to come here because of Mr. Hamit Eren. He is so rich but still I think he isn’t happy. He feels alone without his wife. When he talked with me in the park he was looking so sad. I felt bad for him. He told to me that I am like his daughter. That’s why I had to come. Don’t worry, I will reach at home before 9:00 p.m.” After saying that Burcu cut the call. The security guard opened the gate. He said to Burcu, “ Hamit sir told you to go inside.”
