CHAPTER ELEVEN Reece found Sheriff Fieyn leaning against the wall of the town drug store, rolling himself a cigarette. He blew out a loud sigh as Reece approached. “Thought you’d skedaddled the time it’s taken you. Where the hell you been?” Reece shrugged. “Talking.” It was clear in Fieyn’s expression that he was not best pleased. “It ain’t none of my business, Reece, but—” “Yeah, you said it, Sheriff, so let’s just leave it right there, all right?” “Fair enough.” With a brief nod, Fieyn moved away towards the livery stables, with Reece falling in alongside.
