They deliberated in their own minds as to what to do next. Ezra Soames had slinked off and the assumption was he’d cut a path through the trees. A search resulted in no sign of him and now, at the edge of the deep, forbidding wood, Reece and Fieyn stood, neither speaking. Until that is, Destry came up behind them. There was a distinct note of mockery in his voice. “He’s been summoned and there isn’t a damn thing either of you can do about it.”
