CHAPTER TWENTY Reece sat in silence, using an old, twisted twig he’d found to scratch random patterns in the dirt. Beside him, Fieyn quietly rolled himself a cigarette. “That drifter told me his story,” said the sheriff, lighting his smoke and puffing on it for a few quiet moments. “What did you make of it?” “Not sure if I can make sense of any of it.
