I suppose it was because I was weak and not tapped into my abilities like a wolf needs to be to access that healing. In all this darkness, there was some light. The one useful thing I had was my ability to hear from far away. It alerted me the second that I heard Hunter's voice. Adrian just came from down here, torturing me with the whip once more. I refused to break in front of him or agree to anything he asked. Because of that, I got to feel the leather break my skin, leaving permanent marks all over my body.
