When Anne finally closed her laptop, it was way past 7pm. She decided it was time for her to go home and finish everything there, when she heard there was someone in the open space where the other desks were.
She decided it was the cleaning staff and busied herself with gathering her things .
Anne was already outside her office when she saw Devon, heading to the elevator.
Damn it, now he’s going to think I’m following him.
Which wasn’t true, at least not entirely. He didn't see her, so that’s why she waited for him to get on and she took the stairs.
When she reached the parking lot, she was just about to open her car and get in, when Devon appeared and stood in front of her.
She flinched and took a retreating step.
