Chapter 6

DREW The car was silent as I drove closer to the town. Scout moved in my head to look. “Talk to mate,” he said as he sat on his hind legs. I wanted to talk to Ebony, but every time I looked at her, she stared out the window, taking everything our little place had to offer. I sighed. “So,” I began, “we will go shopping and have some food.” I glanced over to Ebony and was met with her eyes staring back. “That sounds like a plan,” she said. I smiled and looked ahead. “I don’t want to get much,” she murmured. Scout grunted. “Mate needs things,” he said. “We need to get everything she wants.” I couldn’t agree more with him. I would give her the world if I could. I said nothing as I kept driving. I turned the corner, and the town came into view. I looked over to Ebony, whose eyes were wide as she stared ahead at the town. “I thought you said the town was small,” she murmured. Scout chuckled, but I couldn’t help the grin that formed. But I said nothing. I pulled into the nearby car park and stopped. Ebony was about to leave when I placed my hand on her arm. She turned and looked at me with a smile. “Stay with me,” I said, caressing part of her arm. “Few shifters are here, but the ones that are not to be messed with.” Ebony stared at me as I moved my hand back. “What do you mean?” she asked, looking slightly worried. Scout moved in my head and came closer. “Why mate worried?” he murmured. I wanted to ask, but I knew being in the town wasn’t the place for that conversation. I opened my door but looked back at Ebony. “Let’s go,” I said with a smile. Ebony stared at me for a moment but nodded. I exited the car and waited seconds to see Ebony’s head outside. I smiled and closed the door. I walked around to her and pulled her to me. Ebony looked up and smiled. “Let’s get you some stuff,” I murmured as I leaned toward her lips. “I want to spend a few hours with you and then take you home.” Ebony blushed. “Sure,” she said. I kissed her lips and gripped her tightly. I was in heaven. Scout howled in my head. I pulled away and smiled. “Come on,” I said, guiding away from the truck. ***************************************** Shopping was short and sweet. We went to a few shops. Ebony picked out a few handfuls of clothes and essentials, but she would stop me from buying what she was looking at, especially if it was expensive. I’m not made of money, but I have savings. I wanted my mate to be happy and have nice things. I was sitting on a chair outside the changing room of one shop, waiting for Ebony to try on some clothes. She only went in a few seconds ago. I kept my eyes on the curtain but noticed a gap. Ebony didn’t even close the curtain properly. I was about to say something when I spotted her in the mirror. She was undressing. My eyes were fixated on her. I watched as she removed the clothes she had on and stood in her underwear. My pants were getting ready, constricting as my c**k got harder. I look around, but there’s no one around. I get up and use my speed as I enter the little changing area and stand behind Ebony, whose eyes widen. Ebony goes to turn around, but I place my hands on her waist, keeping her in place. I lean into the crook of her neck and place a kiss. My eyes stay on her as I look at her in the mirror. I couldn’t help but take her in; she looked beautiful. “Stunning,” I murmured against her neck. Ebony’s cheeks flushed. “You need me to help you,” I whispered as I grazed my hand up and down her side, sending goosebumps all over her. I felt Ebony lean into me and let a soft moan escape. I smirked. Scout was panting and demanding that we take her right into the changing room. As much as it was a turn-on, I would not give everyone a show of me and my mate f*****g. Well, not now, at least. I enjoyed f*****g outside, and as a rogue, it was a common thing to find, especially where the bar was. Many times I have seen many women being bent over a truck or being f****d against a tree. Even heard moaning when I had my windows open. It was a thing around these parts. Ebony cleared her throat, pulling me back from my thoughts. I stared at her as her eyes kept changing color. Scout came close and groaned. “Her cat wants us,” he groaned. “We need to make her ours.” I felt the same thing the minute she walked through those damn bar doors. “I think you should wait outside,” she whispered. “I don’t need to try anything else now, as I have everything. We can go for food now?” I moved away from her neck and grinned. “Food it is,” I said and kissed her cheek. “Don’t be too long,” I said, moving closer to her ear. “Or I will help you out of it and f**k you right here.” Ebony’s eyes nearly fell out of their sockets, which made me grin. I kissed her cheek and stepped out from behind the curtain. I held the curtain in place and looked around. I glanced out the window to see a man staring at me. I tried to work out who he was, but it was hard from where I was standing to scent him as the store had too many fragrances, causing problems with my senses. The curtain moves, and outcomes Ebony, who smiles at me. I nodded, but I couldn’t help but look out the window again. But the man was gone. That was weird. “You ready?” Ebony asked as she placed her hand into mine. I smiled when I looked back at her. “Sure,” I said. “There is a little cafe around the corner where we can eat.” Ebony nodded. We walked over to the counter and paid for the items she wanted. We headed out and placed all the bags back in the truck before we headed to the cafe. The cafe was small but had everything you could think of to eat. We walked into the cafe and sat at the far end, away from prying eyes. I looked at her as she sat down opposite me. We didn’t have to wait long for the waiter to come over. We looked over the menus and decided on a light lunch; chicken salad with water. The waiter leaves, leaving me alone with my mate. Ebony looks out the window. My mind was racing. I wanted to know everything, but this wasn’t the setting I had for her. I wanted it to be a candlelit dinner with some slow music playing in the background. An idea popped into my head, and I opened a mind link. “Mum,” I asked. “Could you do me a favor?” “Yeah, Drew,” she asked. “What do you need?” I knew Mum knew about Ebony, as my brothers would have told her last night. “Well, as Brock and Toby might have told you,” I said, “I found my mate last night, and I was wondering if you would help me decorate the bar this evening?” Mum squealed. “Yes,” she shouted. “What do you have in mind?” I told her what I wanted to do and when I planned on doing the date. The bar is usually empty on a Sunday as most people are leaving or coming into town; they rarely turn up to the bar till after a few days they have been here. Mum agrees. “I am so happy for you, Drew,” she said. “We will have to meet her soon.” I grinned. “You will,” I said. “We are having food, but I want to take her to the library and three other stores. Do you think you can get something done in time before we come back?” “Yeah,” she said. “I will get Henry, your father, and brothers to help me.” The corners of my mouth hitched up slightly. “I can keep her busy,” I said. “But if it’s not done by the time we get back, I will take Ebony the back way and make sure she knows to get ready. I will come down to help if you need me.” Mum growled. “No, you will not,” she said. “Leave everything to me.” “Thank you, Mum,” I said, closing the mind link. I looked at Ebony, staring at me with her head to the side. “Sorry,” I said. “I had a mind link.” Ebony smiled. “I gathered,” she said. I was about to speak, but the waiter brought our food and water over to us. Ebony smiled at me as she ate. I ate, but my eyes stayed on her the entire time.
