In a heartbeat, Rick flipped over, sending Sue up into the air with a startled gasp. He shifted his form and caught her before she knew what was happening. Then he held her tight against his naked body as the last of his bones settled in place.
Sue’s eyes were wide with shock as she tried to catch her breath. Rick was on his back under her, and she was lying on top of him. She tried to get up but suddenly realized he had his arms around her body and he was holding tight.
Sue immediately realized a lot of things. Ricks was breathing heavily and she could feel the air fanning her cheek. His heartbeat was beating right through her body, bouncing her chest against his. She felt the warmth of his arms where they locked against her back.
