Even floating in some netherworld with her eyes closed, she could feel someone looking at her. She opened her eyes slowly, expecting to meet a steely blue gaze, but instead she saw an older man who looked and smelled like a doctor. She turned her head and looked around the cabin, fear of what she might see lurking inside her. She was ready to buck and run if she saw the two blond men who had turned from lovers to enemies. “Where are they?” she whispered. “If you mean Clint and Val Morgan, they’re waiting just outside.” “What happened?” “You passed out while walking on deck.” “Is that what they told you?
