"I've noticed," I said, glancing up at the clock, "but I think we should go to class, it's about to start."
Dean glared at me through his teary eyes, "can't you see I'm having a moment here?"
I raised my hands in surrender, "jeez, sorry."
Dean bit his bottom lip and put a hand on his heart, his eyes still watery.
He can be mean sometimes, but I swear he's a total softy with a big heart.
"Are you quite finished?!" I asked, watching him wipe his tears away and smile widely then start looking around.
"Now what are you doing?" I groaned, hearing him shush me.
"Just be quiet and follow the amazingly hot guy."
"Okay, where is he?" I looked around then felt Dean slap me upside the head.
"I'm right here, dumbass." He stated and I rubbed my head, rolling my eyes at him.
"That's quite the ego you got there." A newly found voice said and Dean tensed up, turning to look at her.
Judging by the way he reacted when she spoke, she's his mate.
"Yeah, you wanna come cool me down?" He wiggled his eyebrows and I cringed at him, that's just embarrassing.
"Thanks for the offer but no thanks, you're gonna have to try harder than that." She smirked back, giving him a wink then sauntering off.
Just as she was about to turn the corner, she looked back over her shoulder at Dean, "see you around," she said, giving him a toothy smile.
"She's perfect." He gushed while sighing with love, a lovestruck smile plastered on his face.
I rolled my eyes at him, how can he be so loving already? He doesn't even know her name and he's already acting like he has a giant crush on her.
"I can't wait to make her mine." He said, turning to look at me. "How about you?"
I merely shrugged, not really feeling that much happiness even after finding my mate.
Dean sighed after seeing my reaction, knowing the reason to my unhappy mood. "We're all upset about mom, Chris... but she wants us to find our mates and be happy."
I shook my head, "but I'm just afraid she isn't gonna make it... last night when I visited her she told me the doctor said she isn't healing correctly."
A look of pain crossed Dean's face before he frowned at me, "that's the effects of poison Chris..."
"I'm gonna find him," I growled, "and when I do I'm gonna make him regret everything he's done to mom."
"No, haven't you heard of the things he has done to everyone? You won't be able to face him alone," he said, "which is why I'm going with you."
"Really?" I asked, shock clear in my voice.
"Yes, how about we ditch the rest of the day to look for him?"
"No, we can't do that, we'll get in trouble." I denied, hearing the clicking of heels seconds later.
"Chris! Dean! Why aren't you two in class?!" A teacher yelled from down the hall and I looked back at Dean.
"On second thought, now sounds like a good idea." I replied, grabbing Dean by the arm and pulling him out of the school.
We ran to the side of the school near the woods and stopped running, Dean was giving me a slick smirk.
"Didn't think you had a bad bone in you. Running away from a teacher, just wow." He said proudly, the smirk still on his face.
I scoffed, "I get it, let's just go."
Dean nodded and we both shifted, shredding our clothes, then we ran into the woods.
Dean's wolf was black with one light blue stripe starting from the bottom of his jaw and running along his stomach, ending at the tip of his tail. His eyes were grey.
My wolf was also black but I had white around my eyes, my eye color being orange.
Dean looked over at me and tilted his head, signaling me to follow him with his eyes and I nodded.
He turned back around and trotted away with me following in pursuit, both of us going deeper into the unknown.
After about twenty minutes of walking, I ran to Dean's side and nudged him with my head, 'I'm starting to think you have no idea where we're going.'
Dean let out a weird sound to indicate he was laughing, 'I know exactly where we're going.'
He most definitely does not know where we're going.
'Great, we're lost all because of you.' I snorted, making him let out a growl.
'We aren't lost.' He snapped and I growled back.
'Yes we are, I'm leaving!' I snarled, my ears going flat as my canine's showed.
'Fine, I'll go by myself since you're chickening out!' He huffed, turning away from me and walking.
I rolled my eyes and went the opposite direction, hearing a stream up ahead. My ears perked up and my walk turned into a sprint, my tongue dangling out of my mouth.
When I made it to the stream I looked at my reflection for a moment before drinking from it, feeling the water cool me down.
Dean is so stupid sometimes, he had no clue where he was leading us.
'You lost little fella?'
