As if planned, my door was pushed open by Tilly as soon as Venus left my presence. Tilly rarely entered my room without knocking and immediately, I saw urgency glinting in her terrified eyes. What could have happened?
“Tilly...” I started to say when she crumbled into a chair, holding her head. It must be more serious than I thought. She might be old but she was a tough nut to c***k. It took a lot to scare Tilly and she was scared now.
“It’s...it’s....oh, Rhys! I don’t know how to say this!”
My concern was slowly turning to frustrated curiosity. My fists curled and uncurled subconsiously. Who had upset my mother this much? Someone was clearly asking for a broken limb if they had the guts to mess with someone I cared about.
