The 12th was also an anniversary of sorts for them. It was the day that Craig had gone back home two years before when he had first met Lek on his first trip to Thailand. He hadn’t seen a lot of the day. He remembered that the streets had been quiet and that there were more girls in the bars than men, because there was no alcohol on sale. It had not been his favourite day in Thailand for several reasons, but that was two years ago and now he was sitting in ‘his’ new house in Thailand with a Thai ‘wife’, a Thai stepdaughter and a Thai mother-in-law. It was quite overwhelming the difference twenty-four months had made. He hoped that Lek and her family were happy about the changes to their lives too.
