Sarah crawled away in search of her clothes. Clutching them to hide her chest, she stared up. “Hate? I don’t know. It wasn’t what I—” she stopped there. She’d begged him to take her back. Obviously, the romance with a happy ending was just a foolish dream, a picket fence mentality. Neither Alexander nor Jeremy were willing to satisfy her relentless yearning. “You know, you can come back, Sarah,” Jeremy said.
