~‘A’~
There are hushed whispers as I open my eyes and look around. I'm in his room, but I don't feel uncomfortable. I hear a door open and close, along with footsteps coming up the stairs. A light knock on my door causes me to shift in bed. “Come in.” The door opens, and Shawna steps in the doorway.
“How'd you sleep?” I sigh and stretch, sitting up in the bed.
“I slept okay actually. I feel pretty good.” She smiles and nods.
“Well, Eddison went into work today so it's just us.” I should have figured they had jobs. I can't keep them from that, even though I walked away from my job.
“I'm sorry to keep you from working. You can leave me if you must.” Shawna smiles and walks over to the bed. She silently asks if she can sit, and I nod slightly. Shawna moves to sit at the edge of my bed.
“Don't worry about me. My job is more flexible than most. Besides, there's nowhere else I want to be right now. I want to help you find yourself again, if possible.” Shawna takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. “That being said, we were thinking…” I look at Shawna, wondering what she has to say next.
“What is it?”
“Your fa- uh, Eddison and I were thinking that maybe we can contact a witch coven, get them to send someone to help. We don't know why you have forgotten everything and what happened to your wolf. If it has to do with magic, a witch will be able to tell.” Now I'm reeling.
“So, you mean to tell me that witches are real?” Shawna laughs and pats my hand.
“Yes, witches and vampires, not to mention a bunch of other creatures as well. Humans are not as alone in this world as they think they are.” Sh.it, I guess they aren't. It's crazy to me that all of these creatures we have seen in stories and movies are actually real.
“I guess if you both think that will help, I'm game. I trust you two, which when you think about it is crazy. I don't know you enough to have this level of trust in you.” Shawna just smiles and nods her head.
“Eddison will contact the local Coven for us, and we will go from there. I say local, but they are about two hours away. It's just the only Coven close to our area.” I nod my head and pick at the invisible lint on the blanket. I'm not sure what to do from here, but there seems to be an entirely new world opening up to me. I can only hope these witches are able to help me remember where I come from.

*KNOCK*
“WHAT?!” I really hate being interrupted when I’m trying to conduct my experiments. It messes up my focus, and that can be really annoying. My lab door opens, and Yanna walks in.
“I'm sorry to interrupt you, but the High Priestess has called for you.” I sigh and drop the clipboard I had in my hand. I take my gloves off and strip off my goggles. I place everything on the table and turn the light off.
When I get out of my lab, I lock the padlock that's on the door and make my way to the main house. The High Priestess runs the Coven. I don't really like her, but I have no choice but to follow her. I'm sure you wonder why I stay in the Coven. Why don't I just leave and do what I want? The truth is that there's more protection for me within the Coven rather than outside of it. When tied to a coven, you are instantly protected by your sisters and any warlocks tied to our Coven.
Many of my sisters don't like to deal with me, and the feeling is mutual. Most of my sisters are incompetent, and I feel the High Priestess is the same. She got her position through nepotism rather than skill. I'm much better at magic than she is, and I also dabble in dark magic. With the power I have, I should be High Priestess.
When I get to her office, I knock on the door, though it’s already open. There are two other sisters in the room with the High Priestess. If I had to guess, I’m being given a task. I have no issue with that, but I have an issue working with these two.
I stand beside them as we look at the High Priestess sitting at her desk. “Hello, sisters. I called you three today because we have a task. I was contacted by the BlackPaw pack. They have someone that they want us to see. He was missing four years and has just turned up. He has no memory of his missing time or his previous life. He only remembers the last two years. He's also lost contact with his wolf. They want us to come and see if magic has been used in his situation.”
Okay, so my initial reaction was, ‘hell no’. There's no way I want to be a part of this. The minute I see him, my cover may be blown. I can't afford to have anyone know I have anything to do with that wolf or what happened to him. The more she spoke, the more my mind worked.
This may actually be a good thing, to be honest. I will be able to make sure that he never remembers what happened to him. I will also be able to get some extra data that may help with that particular experiment.
The movement of my sisters breaks me out of my thoughts. They are walking toward the door, and I zoned out for the bulk of this meeting. I have no idea what was said or decided. A throat clears, causing me to look up. “Is everything okay, Chandra?”
“Uh, yes. I'm good.”
“Well, you have some time before you leave. Those two have to finish their current project so you will set out next week.” I nod and turn to the door. Next week is perfect. I will get everything together that I need to make sure my secret stays buried.
