Re-entering Jake’s office took some guts, especially because she knew what he was going to say before he even voiced his thoughts. But she knew that she had no choice, so taking a deep calming breath, she passed an easy smile on her face and entered.
“I guess you know what you are doing?” Jake did not waste time but went straight to the point.
Nicole gave him a crooked smile, “not really,” she answered truthfully. “But he has this charm that has captured me. He is very-uh-intense.”
