The constant ringing of her phone by her bedside table woke her up from a deep sleep. Groaning, Nicole reached for her phone and picked it up. “This is becoming a very bad habit on your end, Fey!” she told off her friend, her face still in the pillow. “Well, I wouldn’t be calling you so early if you had sent me a text telling me how the dinner went with the in-laws last night!” Fey’s annoyed voice echoed through the phone. “And it couldn’t wait until us mortals were up for the day, say in the next two hours or so?” Nicole asked as she turned on her back and stared at the ceiling.
