Chapter 8
Megan was pretty sure she broke all speeding records getting to the hospital, and she didn’t understand how she avoided a speeding ticket. Maybe it was because Detective Carson had put out a notice to the other police in the area to ignore her erratic driving and let her go. She wanted to talk to Opal before the doctors filled her with prescriptions and her recall of the morning’s attack became unclear. She watched with a worried frown as the detective himself followed her to the hospital. Thanks to getting through a couple of traffic lights faster than him, she arrived at the hospital first. Parking in the closest visitor parking spot she could find, Megan turned off the engine and ran towards the doors before the car had even started to cool. The two dogs knew something was up
