3rd Person Pov- Amari/Rhett
Amari smiled at Rhett, watching him with a bright smile on her face as he beautifully slit the throat of the old man who used to be his boss. She clapped her hands lightly over the way he skillfully killed the man with no remorse, his bright green eyes gleaming as he stared at Amari over the dying man now lying and twitching on the ground. Amari was falling hard and fast for Rhett, more and more remembering the way Sebastian, her previous husband, was so many years ago. When Sebastian had first gotten bloodthirsty and hungry, the way he’d felt so accomplished in the deaths of those who stood in his way. As Rhett walked back to Amari she stood up from the bench she had been sitting on elegantly beside the docks and wrapped her arms around his neck, licking the blood off of his cheek before pressing her lips against his. It didn’t matter if she was falling fast for him, he was already completely enamored with her, no longer seeing the little girl's appearance she had and seeming nothing but a beautiful old soul with more experience than any woman he’d ever met before, along with a crazed mind filled with enough horror and madness to satisfy him for a lifetime. Amari knew he’d die soon enough, he’s merely a human and even if he did get his fairy powers back he’d still live the normal amount of time, but despite the fact that another eighty years would be a blink of an eye for her, she still was happily throwing every part of herself at him, allowing herself to find love once more, the perfect evil power couple. “My love, the man is dead, and the boat is loaded and ready to go. My men are acquiring the woman, we just need to get everyone else on the ship fast before people notice the activity.” He said to her, running his finger over her chin in an endearing manner.
Amari purred under his touch, rubbing her face against his hand. With one hand still wrapped around Rhett’s neck, she lifted the other and snapped her fingers, and without more than a few seconds, figures sped past Rhett, confusing him as he felt like a wind storm had just moved past him. “There, all done. Shall you escort me onto the vessel, my love?” She asked, turning her head to kiss his hand. He blinked at her in surprise and she merely laughed, pulling away from him and tangling her fingers with his. “I had my vampires carrying your humans. That way it would be fast and quick. Even the youngest, what is he? sixteen? Seventeen?” She asked, frowning. “Is he necessary? We could use him for food.” She said.
There had been another younger, one who would be five now, but the mother and the child had veered off from Rhett and the others to make a life for herself in the Shifter kingdom after she had met a traveling shifter she had fallen in love with. The baby that Ashe and Jaelyn had promised to go to one day to offer immunity for being forced into a life the child hadn’t chosen for themselves. “Theon, you mean? He’s seventeen, but he’s a good lad. He’s strong, he’s sharp, and he’s smart. His evil mind is still growing, and I expect great things from him one day.” Rhett said, frowning at her. “We can grab some humans for food if you’d like, but your vampires have their blood bags, right? We can grab a few humans for you. I have no idea what’ll be on the other side.” He said to her. He didn’t want her to eat Theon or any of his followers. The more he had, the better for when it came time to take over the fairy realm.
Amari frowned, but as Rhett started to sling some bags onto the ship she saw a couple strolling around the docks for a midnight stroll and she smiled, her teeth glistening in the moonlight as she quickly mind controlled them to come join her on a trip. The couple strolled onto the ship without a care and Rhett simply laughed as she giggled, hand in hand with the man and the woman, licking her lips as she made her way to the captain's quarters. She was in the captain’s quarters on the ship while the other vampires were secured down below, and Rhett’s men started to busy themselves with the preparation of the boat for sail. There were four men that went to retrieve Ana, and Rhett was ecstatic everything was going as planned. In the middle of the boat was a place where two boards were lifted and a cage was revealed, already opened and ready for Ana to be thrown inside for the journey to the dark land. Rhett told his men their positions and to let him know when Ana was on the ship and went to the captain’s quarters with Amari. The boat started to move and he grinned, opening the door and shutting it behind him, staring at Amari who was already naked and ready for him on the bed.
Meanwhile, Falyn’s stomach was starting to hurt. She had planned to stay the night with Ana and Ren and Ella once more until Jaelyn came to collect her daughter, but Ella had made a game of shoving fairy food into Falyn’s mouth and there was only so much fairy food a non-fairy could eat before it became too much. Of course, it wasn’t poisoned, they weren’t Unseelie fairies, but her stomach was still feeling fairly icky and she told Ana she would be leaving that night instead of the next day, saying good night to everyone. Falyn knew basic training as most everyone did, but she was fairly lax at it. What was the point of trying so hard when the land was peaceful? She didn’t have a weapon, and she didn’t call for her brother. She knew Sage would be cross with her when he woke up in the morning and she was there, especially when he found out she didn’t ask Ren to walk her home, but she brushed off Ren’s invitation to take her, feeling silly over the constant watch. She loved her brother dearly, but sometimes his protective nature was stifling and she wanted to be alone. Especially a warm night like this, with the beautiful falling stars she was named after streaking through the sky. Of course, she never expected the attack. Why would she? For all of her life, the dragon kingdom had been safe, with a few mild criminals here and there, and for the past five years, now that the vampire kingdom was signed to the alliance, there had been no attacks of any sort on the dragon kingdom. Everything was so peaceful it was starting to be boring, which was why training was mostly growing lax with everyone and more and more scholars were popping up eager to learn written words now that there wasn’t much of a need for action. How were they to know that there was something big coming? Someone big coming? A villain from another dimension and a villain from a banishment long ago pairing up to try and take over the land? How could they have known that it was coming? Or that this very night would start the act that would lead to everything? The four men weren’t as trained as the assassins were, and if it was her brother they had targeted or an actual assassin they’d have all been dead in a matter of minutes, but Falyn was barely trained and fairly weak, only a mere fifteen-year-old girl.
Falyn had stopped to have a conversation with an old man who had been trying to pack all of his merchandise into a wagon to take to the next town over for his granddaughter, and despite the time of the night, she stopped to help him load everything. The folk of the dragon kingdom all knew Falyn and loved her dearly. She was always helping out and making time for them, and Falyn enjoyed the people and their happy smiles, always wanting nothing more than to help them. After the man was loaded up and helped onto his horse, she smiled and waved at him, before making her way once more towards her home. Meanwhile, the four men had been studying her. They knew Ana’s house by the description they had received, from when Amari had tortured a man who knew the dragon kingdom earlier. They stared at the young woman wearing a deep green cloak and watched her, trying for the life of them to remember exactly how Rhett had worded it. A young woman who seemed mature, or was it a mature woman who seemed young? The wording was strange, and they had messed it up over and over again in their mind until they couldn’t quite remember exactly how Rhett had said it. However, when they stopped to listen to the young woman talk to the old man, they heard how mature she was, how kind and helpful and they stared at each other nodding, thinking this was what Rhett said. Once the man was gone, they took action, one man slipping his hand around her mouth while two others grabbed her arms and helped pull her into a darkened area between houses. It all took a matter of seconds, and while Falyn struggled as much as she could, the fourth man poured a smelly liquid on a cloth. “We’ve found you, Ana,” The man said, grinning at Falyn as he placed the cloth against her nose and mouth.
“But I’m not…” She started to say, her eyes wide as she breathed in deeply, fear racing through every part of her. Before she could finish her sentence she sighed, her eyes lifting to the sky as she watched the stars falling, and as darkness washed over her and her eyelashes fluttered closed she let out a sob, closed her eyes, and screamed with every part of herself in her mind, calling for Sage, for her sun, hoping he’d hear her and come find her. She had no doubt he’d find her, he’d always find her.
The men cheered silently over how easy it was, holding her in one of their arms as the men all moved through the houses. Unlike the trading town, the Dragon kingdom wasn’t as awake at night time. There was a market area with hostels and inns that were always open and the men avoided that strip, but otherwise, the houses were dark and quiet, everyone sleeping for the morning's activities. The men went to the hill where Aislyn and Jem had gotten married, moved down to the clearing where Jaelyn had danced for the first time, and when her eyes first laid on the boy named Nothing. They didn’t go up to the hill overlooking the sea, but instead veered to the left towards the beach, and as they walked on the sand, the swish of the sea brushing against the sand as the sea foam gathered near their feet, a small boat with one man was waiting for them. The four men loaded the unconscious Falyn onto the boat and loaded themselves into the boat, rowing towards the sea. Just as they made it around the hill that overlooked the sea, the ship came into view.
On a horse, the trip to the shipping town was a two-day ride over the paths and through the different forests, but in a large fast ship, it only took half the night to make it to the Dragon kingdom, the boat keeping all of their lights off and hugging the coast as closely as they could the whole time. The boat was strapped to the ship and lifted into the air, the men handing the unconscious Falyn to the others and as they gently placed her into the cage, one of the women went to Rhett, knocking on the door. “What is it?” Rhett thundered, halfway inside Amari for a second round. He was excited and staring down at a beautiful woman that tugged at his heart. He didn’t want an interruption.
The woman stuttered, clearly flustered by his tone as she stood outside the door and didn’t even try to open it. “You told us to get you when we'd got the young woman. She’s unconscious and on the boat, in the cage, as you’ve requested.” She said, wringing her hands in the shirt she was wearing.
Rhett was slightly confused as to why she said young woman, but maybe they had decided to call her that because of how young she acted, instead of her appearance. She’d have to be in her thirties or forties by now, Rhett thought, frowning, and surely that wasn’t old but not exactly what he’d call a young woman either. “I don’t need to see her, I’ll see her later. Make sure all of the vampires are under the deck and get this boat out of here. I want us to be out of sight before the sun rises!” He called, before shoving himself all the way inside Amari.
The woman hesitated by the door once more, unsure if he was dismissing her, but once he let out a deep groan she shuddered in disgust and turned away, telling the others to close and lock the cage, lower it into the deck, and get the ship moving. So, without checking to see the prisoner inside the cage, Rhett allowed it to be lowered and continued with Amari as the ship sped as fast as it could towards the dark land, the land that’s never been ventured by anyone in the kingdoms before.
