Amanda and Emily had just left the police station, they had submitted the evidence and the man was behind bars, the officers of the law had thanked them for their splendid work, they were also licking ice creams, Amanda was licking the cookies and cream flavor with caramel sauce topping while Emily was licking a moose traps flavored ice cream, they were both enjoying it.
"I am surprised, thought you would be with Bale today, isn't today a date night" Emily says in her direction.
"Yeah, it was supposed to be but something more important surfaced" Amanda replies as she gives her ice cream one more thick lick.
Emily burst into a fit of laughter as she stares at Amanda.
"What's funny, do I have some cream on my face" Amanda asks her cheerful expression vanishing.
"No, silly" Emily grins at her.
"It's just that teacher we pranked, you said you were going to peg him, he really screamed 'mommy', did you see how he cried like a little baby afterwards, it was just so funny."
Amanda too laughs uncontrollably, Emily seeing her friend laugh began to laugh with her, the memory of the teacher was much too funny.
"I know, Don't think I'd ever forget that expression any time soon" Amanda says as she stops laughing, she looks around, apparently, the duo laughing seemed to have caused a lot of attention directed at them but it wasn't anything to her, she just rewrote all their minds, they forgot that they had seen the two girls laughing as they went about with their normal activities.
"Your ability is really handy" Emily grins at her.
"I am aware, yours too is quite the catch, can't imagine where I would be without it" Amanda smiles at her.
"Yeah" Emily grins but the smile on her face disappears, her face was now burdened with tensed lines which weren't there before, Amanda stared at her unhappily, usually, she knew what was wrong with everyone except her friend, she just couldn't peer into what was going on into the pretty head of hers.
"What's the problem?" Amanda asks..
"Don't worry" Emily says putting up a fake smile
"It's nothing, don't bother."
"We have been friends for nearly sixteen years, I know when something is wrong with you, come on, spit it out to momma" Amanda grins at her.
"Am I really that obvious to read?" Emily grins.
"Actually, you are..." Amanda begins but she notices the grin on her friend's face
"And now, you are trying to change the main subject, could work on anyone else but certainly not your bestie."
"You are better than I give you credit for" Emily smiles.
"I know, it comes with our friendship, so would you like to tell me what's going on so I can stop disturbing you" Amanda asks.
"Fine, it's about Dad, I just really miss him, remember his funeral, I have a feeling that the stranger who came was Dad, only he calls me Emi" Emily answers.
"You sure, Emi cause I just called you Emi right now" Amanda chuckles, this cause Emily to smile heartily as Amanda hardens her facial expression
"The point is, we all tried to trace his soulic energy signature of the man who came and unfortunately we don't know who he is but it wasn't your Dad, his soulic energy signature was completely different, we all want him back, we really all do but he isn't coming back."
"Ouch" Emily says.
"Did I say something wrong" Amanda asks.
"You said he isn't coming back, you could have said something else to cheer me up, that sorta sounded insensitive" Emily frowns.
"Oooh, pardon me, I was never one for sensitivity and you know that, I just blurt out the truth but you know I love you right" Amanda grins.
"I love you too" Emily smiles as she hugs her friend but not before letting the cones they were both holding to vanish.
"That's a really touchy moment and by that, don't mean the words, I mean the fact that you two are literally hugging, there's a lot of touching going on" came a deep and macho voice behind them, the two girls turn towards the direction of the voice, it was a boy who was over six feet, had jet black shiny hair which was obviously gelled, he was a Caucasian and really handsome with brown eyes.
"Oooh, Bale, didn't know you were here" Amanda says aloud her voice going all octave.
"It's part of my charm" Bale grins at her as he walks over to her locking her in a long kiss.
Emily had already broken away as she just stared awkwardly at her friend.
Bale breaks away from the kiss as he stares at Emily
"If it ain't the birthday girl, ain't you supposed to be at your party."
"What party?" Emily asks.
"So you didn't get the news already, f**k Mikey, I thought he'd be better than this" Bale mutters out.
"You still haven't answered my question" Emily says in his direction.
"You know me, I am a man of more action and less talk, instead of talking, how about I show you" Bale says as he brings out a device from his pocket, Emily stared at the object he was holding, it really resembled the transportation device she had seen Lefinna handling.
"He mentioned Mikey earlier on, so there's a surprise for me and he was using that as a mask but his facial expression, he's quite the actor" Emily thinks as a smile curves up on the edge of her face.
A blue whitish light encircles the three of them as they disappear from the area, they reappear in another room where there were snacks and drinks everywhere, it was filled with various forms of decorations and there was a big sign which wrote;
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMILY."
As she noticed the sign, everyone simultaneously screamed happy birthday, she blushed uncontrollably, Amanda's friends and family were present also her younger brother and Mother, Redoulp, some members of the lycanpride clan and some people from the Molkion box dimensional kingdom too were also present.
This reminded her of the time they threw a surprise birthday party for her Mom, she was overjoyed to see everyone.
"Happy birthday, Emi" Amanda says as she hugs her, Emily hugs her back as a tear escapes her right eye.
"Come on, you guys was just touching when I found y'all, this is a party, we should go crazy, also there are some freaky creatures here and I don't mind getting freaky..." Bale ends with a crazy smile but Amanda turns towards him with a menacing look which quickly caused him to think fast and say
"... getting freaky handling the DJ's position and rocking this place with great music" he ends as he dashes towards the edge of the room.
As Emily approached her mother, Sarah, she noticed something was off, it was then she understood what was happening as she looked around the room, the way everyone danced, how they moved their bodies, what was happening couldn't be more obvious.
"You are playing with their minds, ain't you" Emily says in Amanda's direction.
"Busted" Amanda grins. Bale who saw that Emily had caught on to what was happening slowly descends under the platform he was standing close to.
"How could you do this to me?" Emily asks.
"I am sorry" Amanda defends herself
"Ever since your Dad went to a better place, you have always been feeling down and I looked at you during your Mom's birthday, turns out you wished you wanted what she was given, that's why I created this moment, I thought you would love it."
"Well you thought wrong, Bale doesn't seem to be telepathically controlled, I am guessing only the two of you were in on this" Emily says with a disapproving look.
"Yes" Amanda mutters slowly.
"I know you are trying to help, you are just like everyone, you think my father is dead but I know he's not, Dad can never die, you doing this just shows you see me as one vulnerable child in need of attention, I understand you have a boyfriend, I don't have one and I don't need one not because I feel vulnerable or lonely, it's just...." Emily stops herself as tears emerge from her two eyes
"...you can never understand how it feels to be me, everyone just sees me as a freak, your powers are telepathic, makes you look awesome and the only one who truly understood me was Dad, you just doing this really hurts my feelings, makes me remember the fun times I had with Dad, yes, he might not be alive but I still miss him very much and if there's a thin chance he's alive, I wanna hold on to it, in fact, just forget this, you can never understand me" Emily ends as a blue portal appears directly in front of her.
"No, Emi, Don't go, I am really sorry, I thought you would appreciate this, I totally didn't account for this attitude" Amanda says.
"Yes, cause you could just easily manipulate anyone else to do your own bidding" Emily shoots back as she turns away from her and now faces the portal
"Also stop calling me Emi, you'd never be like how he was to me" she ends as she jumps into the portal, the portal vanishes after she had entered.
"That was a very non touching moment and by that, I mean literally and figuratively" Bale says aloud.
"I think she's mad at me, I didn't want that to happen, I thought this would be a great way to cheer her up and get back the fun times we had back when we were kids but turns out I was completely wrong, it really just backfired" Amanda ends in a sober expression.
"You know this wouldn't have happened if you listened to me, I told you about it, though you can read minds, you really don't understand people" Bale says to her
"At least, not your friend."
"And you do?" Amanda smirks.
"I am the greatest charmer I know, I understand ladies better than they themselves" Bale grins at her.
"Really" Amanda smiles.
"I won your heart, didn't I?" Bale grins.
"Fair point" Amanda says
"So what do you suggest we do."
"Give your friend some time to heal, she's still under the delusion that her father is still alive, she needs to deal with it personally, it's not something you can help her with" Bale replies.
"Okay then, problem solved" Amanda grins.
"I wouldn't exactly say that" Bale says looking across the room as he stares at the individuals which were present in the room
"We earlier thought Emily would help with this but I don't think we can personally move this crowd to each of their homes."
Emily wept as she now sat in one of her pocket dimensions, this one was like no other, surrounded with a scenery like that of emerald City and a fairy tale's garden, it was simply beautiful and marvellous to look at, there were lovely ponies and cute rabbits everywhere. This place was like super secret to her, she never told anyone about it, the length of the entire dimension was about 582 octodecillion light years while the breath was about 372 septendecillion light years, it was bigger than even her universe although her universe was constantly expanding, tending to infinity.
"Maybe Amanda is right, the man who came, he might not have been Dad, I mean not only him calls me Emi at least Amanda called me that too" Emily sighs aloud.
"Why's the birthday girl holed up in this, thought she'd be celebrating with her friends, also, why did you have to make this place so big, I ran everywhere here, though I did it in just six femtoseconds" came a strange distinct voice, Emily looks up, it was the same man who had come to her father's funeral about seven months ago, he wore the same clothes, there was no difference.
"How did you get here? What's your purpose here? and most importantly, how did you know today was my birthday?" Sarah asks perplexed.
"Whooo whoo, chill out, dollface, you just asked me two questions simultaneously, how do you expect me to answer" the man asks with a mild grin.
"I am sorry, I am usually more composed, just worried at the moment" Emily replies him
"Why am I even apologizing, why did he enter my private place without my permission, I have every right to ask him these questions" she wonders.
As if reading her mind, the man begins
"For the first question, I just locked on to a bond we both share in common to locate your presence and appear here, this dimension completely blocks out any form of energy signature so I couldn't use that to come in, such a bummer, cause of that, I couldn't bring my other gees, they really love cookies."
"That's strange, how did he enter, every creature had some form of energy and except if you have my permission or I allowed you in, it was supposed to be impossible to enter this space" Emily thinks.
"Regarding the second question" the stranger says getting closer, he extends a necklace which had a pendant of a shiny 'blue woman sitting on a ladybug' to her, Emily took the necklace, as she took it, she couldn't but notice that the pendant looked so awfully familiar, just who was this stranger.
"I will be taking my leave now but to answer the third question you asked" the man grins
"What kind of father would I be if I forgot my daughter's birthday."
This causes Emily's eyes to open wide, she was bewildered.
"Happy birthday, dollface, I love you, I have been watching you, love the work you have been doing around town, also, you taking care of my wife and my little boy, thanks for that, tell them I said hi" the man grins as he disappears.
As Emily held the necklace, she felt relieved.
"So I am not so crazy after all, Dad is really alive."
