Forks High

The moment my eyes opened the next morning I slid from my bed and headed straight to the bathroom to begin my morning ritual process of getting ready. When it came to hygiene I was very specific. I am the type of female who would rather be late then miss a step. First things first, shower time. I turned on the water and immediately felt the steam begin to rise from the hot water. I adjusted the taps and then stepped in under the warm cascading stream of water. I stooped down to gather my loofah and pomegranate melon body wash before I began to bath myself. The scent of my wash caused my scenes to awaken happily. After I had finished scrubbing every inch of my body I washed my hair and then my face with a peppermint scrub. Once I was confident I was clean I turned off the water and stepped out to let myself air dry. Heading over to my sink I grabbed the curlers from under it and began to put them in my hair. I normally did this while my hair was wet so when it dried it would be curly. Like my sister, my hair was straight with light waves. When I was younger though it was naturally curly and then they just fell out. After I had put all the curlers in my hair I sprayed it with my favorite hair spray, aussie, and then went into my room to get my outfit I had set out the previous night. Today I would be grabbing the spotlight with a dress I had sewn together from an old skirt that I had outgrown and two shirts I had accidently ruined in a washing mishap. I wouldn't be wearing leggings with my heels so I did my best to use makeup to cover up my scars on my leg. Before hand I used some liquid bandage stuff that I found in the medicine cabinet to seal it. Once I was finished getting dressed I went back into the bathroom to begin my makeup. A hint of eyeliner mascara and rep lip stain did the trick. This was basically the only makeup I wore because I was one of the lucky females to have blemish free skin. In my adolescent life so far I had never had a zit. One by one I began to take out my curlers until my hair hung in long curles that cascaded a few inches past my shoulder. With one shake of my hair I was ready to go. I turned out the lights in my bathroom and grabbed my keys, backpack, ipod and cellphone and then headed outside to the garage to warm up my car. As I slid into my car and started it I looked over and noticed Bella's truck was still here meaning she hadn't left yet. What was stranger was that she was sitting in her truck with her head on the steering wheel. I honked my horn once and she looked up at me. "Falling asleep behind the wheel is not safe." I joked. Bella opened up the truck door and got out, her back pack slung over her shoulder. "Only in a moving vehicle and mine doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, the battery just died completely." She explained as she walked over to the passenger side of my car. "You don't mind me carpooling with you until I can save up some money to get a new batter do you?" she asked. I gave her a blank stare before I shook my head. "Sorry I don't give rides to strangers." I chuckled before patting the seat beside me. Bella smiled feebly before she opened the car door and got in. Once she had her seatbelt on I began to back out before we were on our way. "Are you nervous?" I asked her. Bella looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. "I guess... are you?" She asked back. I shook my head. "Na, never." 10 minutes later we pulled into the parking lot of Forks High school. Immeadiately heads turned in our direction and I could see from my preiphial vision as people were pointing in our direction and talking. This should be interesting. I immeadiately pulled into the first parking spot I came to, beside a silver volvo and shut off my engine. As I slid from my car I looked around, curious to the scene. Here and there were kids my age, all in groups. It was obvious which were from low income families and which were fortunate to be in the middle class from their threads. I headed inside, following all the other students, with my sister on my tail and went to the office to get my class schedule. The woman greeted me and began typing on her computer before she handed my a schedule. After my sister got hers we headed to our first class of the day, English. I sat beside my sister for the 45 minute lecture, bored and annoyed at the repeat of this lecture. Back in Phoenix we had already learned about the works of Edgar Allen Poe, yet here we were learning about it again. I had easily passed this with a B- so I knew I would be able to skim through this without really trying. The moment the bell rang I rose to my feet and grabbed my bag and headed out. Next was biology and then Gym. Biology was fine, but I ended up sitting by myself because my partner was abscent. Bella was the same as her partner was absent as well. The only two spots in the class that were open were single seats. When we headed on to gym class I was relieved as the next period was lunch. I loved to eat food and had a wide range when it came to my favorite foods. In gym class today we were playing volleyball. This was easy to me since I was on the girls volleyball team one year at my old high school. I quit when I wanted to sign up for soccer and then ended up leaving soccer when I tore a ligament. During the game though Bella ended up spiking the ball at some guys head. Not just any guy but the one I had met at the diner, Mike. I walked over with her to get the ball and we fell into a bit of conversation and then were quickly joined by Jessica. They invited us to sit with them at lunch and we accepted since we had no one else to sit with. Who knows maybe they would become good friends. It would certainly be nice to be able to invite a people over for a barbecue or something. Lunch couldn't have came any sooner. By then my stomach was churning angrily from the hunger. I went straight to the line and gathered a hearty tray of food before I sat down between Bella and Jessica. "So how is your first day going?" Jessica asked me and my sister. "Boring so far-" I said as I as I took a bite from a slice of pizza. I immeadiate gagged before spitting it into a napkin and washing my mouth with milk. "This isn't pizza! This is grease!" I spat before I grabbed a handful of veggies and began popping them into my mouth quickly. "Boring?" Jessica asked. I nodded my head. "The academics that I am forced to study so far I have already finished at my old school." I explained. I watched as Jessica took a bite from her pizza, chewed then swallowed as if it was nothing. Instantly I felt my stomach turn over as it threatened to come back up. "What school did you go to?" Mike asked me. "Paradise Valley in Phoenix Arizona." I responded. "Aren't people from Arizona supposed to be really tan?" She asked. I nodded my head. "Most are, but my sister and I can't tan which is good since we basically fit in with all the pale faces." I chuckled. "Speaking of pale face-" My sister began. "I think they are the Cullens right?" I looked up and across the lunch hall only to see the familiar faces from the day I was lost in the woods enter. First came the big burly man with dark hair, beside him was the beautiful blonde. I didn't exactly know them. "That's Rosalie and Emmett Cullen-" Jessica began. So the girls name was Rosalie and the guy I had first seen through the window was Emmett. "They are together, like together together." She explained futher. Behind them came the short girl I knew as Alice and behind her was the tall curly headed man. "The guy who looks like he is in pain, his name is Jasper and the girl beside him is-" "-Alice..." I finished. Jessica nodded her head. Last but not least, in walked two males who looked similar to one another. "Those two guys right there are Edward and Ben.. or Benedict. They are twins." Jessica finished. Angela leaned forward. "They are Dr and Mrs. Cullens adopted kids, he is like a matchmaker or something. Alice, Edward, Benedict and Emmett are biological siblings and Jasper and Rosalie are twins. Emmett is the oldest from his brothers and sisters then Alice, Edward and Benedict are triplets I guess. I heard their mother died giving birth to them so Dr. and Mrs. Cullen adopted them because they couldn't have their own." Angela said. "You honestly don't think it's weird that they are dating each other though?" Jessica said. "It's not like they are related by blood, they just live together." Angela replied. "Why don't Edward and his brother have girlfriends?" my sister asked curiously. Jessica smirked. "Don't waste your time, no one here is good enough for them, they turn down everyone." she replied. I looked at Jessica. It was clear that she had once asked Edward or his brother out and was turned down. I wish I had been there to witness that. I rose to my feet and headed over to the table where the Cullens were sitting. "Hi!" Alice said cheerfully to me. I smiled back, trying to seem friendly. "I just wanted to say thank you for what you and your family did for me that day in the woods. You showed my great kindess and may have saved my life." I said. Alice rose to her feet and wrapped her arms around me. I shivered at her touch which was abnormally ice cold and then wrapped my arms around her in a hug. "It was my pleasure, I already know we are going to be great friends." She said, overly cheerfully. Great friends.... that was wonderful. How would she know this though? "I love your style, its so appealing and tasteful." Alice said to me. "You must like shopping." She said as she pulled out the empty seat beside her so I could sit down. Before I could answer she began introducing her siblings. "These are my brothers Emmett, Edward and Benedict and our adopted siblings Rosalie and Jasper." She said, pointing to each person. I waved my hand to them. "Hi, I'm-" "-Sophia Swan if I'm not mistaken." The boy I recognized as Benedict said. "And that is your sister Bella" He added nodded in her direction. "Uhm yeah" I chuckled. "I- I'm Sophia and that is my sister Bella." I basically repeated. "Now that we have all met I'd like to make a proposal." Alice furthered. "Of what kind?" I asked. "You, me and Seattle. I know these stores that have the best clothes and I think you will like it." She squeeked. I looked in her face and was won by her charm and youthful features. It was definitely hard to say no to this one. "Definitely." I replied. She bounced up and down in her seat a few times from excitement and then held out her hand, asking for my cell phone. I handed it to her and watched as she entered her number in my phone book and then called her phone to get mine. The moment she handed it back all the Cullens rose to their feet. Seconds later the bell rang signaling the end of lunch. I rose to my feet and said good bye before I headed from the lunch room to my math class. Before I could get out of lunch room Jessica and my sister were at my side wondering what happened. "You know Alice?" Jessica questioned. "What did she want? How close are you guys? She asked hurridly. "She invited me to go shopping with her." I said simply. "Why you?" Jessica asked as she walked beside me to my next class which I assumed we had together. "I don't know-" I said as I grabbed the door handle. "She just said she knows we are going to be great friends." I finished before entering the classroom. Bella and I took the only empty seats at a group table in the very back. In this class was Alice and Benedict and they were sitting with us at our four person tables. Alice, who wanted to sit beside me, traded seats with her brother and almost immeadiately we fell into conversation about hair products, make up secrets and fashion. Halfway through class we were shooshed by Bella and resorted to continuing our conversation in text. When the class ended Alice began chattering. "So I was thinking this Friday you can come and stay the night and then we can drive out to Seattle and spend the day there." She said. My eyes widened slightly. I was just invited to over to a sleep over by one of the neatest girls I had met so far. Making friends was easier then I thought when you had alot of things in common. "I'll ask my dad and let you know before the end of the week." I replied as we walked to the next class which was spanish. "Yeah, that is a good idea, I should ask my parents too." She responded before we headed into class. The final two classes I had with without my sister. The first one I had with Alice and the final which was Government I had alone. The moment school ended I was relieved. I couldn't wait to get home and tell my father all about my new friends and my day at school. I couldn't wait until this Friday when I would get to spend the night with Alice. So far I loved Forks High.
