Chapter 8 For the next few days Dezi stayed on the alert for any sign of his father’s goons, but saw nothing. This made him nervous. Silence to other people meant the worst was over, but to him, it meant the opposite. It meant that his father was silently planning something. Dezi couldn’t even guess what it was, but knew his father was capable of anything. All they could do was wait. He was in the kitchen fixing himself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich when a knock came at the door. “Hey, Rox, will you get that?
