Third Person's POV
She had never driven this fast in her life. With Mrs. Alvarez's cryptic call leaving her mind racing through various worst-case scenarios regarding Ryan, fear began to grip her tightly. What could have possibly made the principal so cold? She braced herself for the worst as she parked in the school's parking lot. Taking a quick, deep breath, she steeled herself before stepping out of the car.
The short walk to the principal's office felt like an eternity, and when she finally arrived, she found herself unable to bring herself to knock on the door. The door was however opened by a teacher who was coming out of the office.
"Oh, Ms. White, you're here. Please come in," the teacher said with a warm smile, which helped to ease some of the tension.
"Thank you," she replied gratefully, and stepped into the office as the teacher walked past her.
When Mrs. Alvarez noticed who had just entered her office, she asked the teachers who were in her office to excuse them.
"Please have a seat" She sounded a little friendlier than she had been on the phone.
She waited until all the teachers had left the office before speaking.
"Thank you for coming, Ms. White."
Ishtar only nodded, silently urging her to continue.
"It's obvious I called you here because of your son, Ryan. To answer the question on your mind, he is fine. He is a smart boy and has has demonstrated that in the two days he's been here. However, it's unforunate that we cannot continue to have him here."
"What! What do you mean? You can't be serious," Ishtar exclaimed, jumping to her feet in shock. It had only been two days since Ryan started at the school, so Mrs. Alvarez's statement was utterly unexpected.
"I'm sorry, but I am very serious. Your son is a threat to us and the other children. In all my years, I have never encountered such an aggressive child. Your son has displayed a level of aggressiveness typically seen only in wild animals, and we are concerned for the safety of the other children."
"What did he do?" Ishtar asked calmly seeing that it has some connection to what happened in his previous school.
"Does it really matter what he did?" Mrs. Alvarez responded.
"Yes, it does matter," Ishtar insisted, "considering you're dismissing him based on his actions. What could a four-year-old possibly do to warrant such drastic punishment?"
"He caused chaos in his classroom. He claimed he was trying to help his classmate, Merilyn, retrieve her pencil from another classmate, Joshua. When Joshua refused to hand it over, Ryan snatched it away and, in the process, let out a loud roar. The sound that the teacher heard wasn't the playful roar of a child pretending to be a lion; it sounded like that of a wild animal. When his teacher approached him, she noticed a change in his eye color. Now, tell me, what kind of child behaves like this? We live in the real world, not a paranormal one. Your son was so angry that he could have hurt his mates and because of that, I cannot allow him to remain here. I refuse to risk a repeat of today's incident. Who knows, maybe next time it will be fatal and when it happens that way, we will be sued."
"But he didn't hurt anyone. And did you personally witness the incident, or are you acting only on hearsay? What if the teacher exaggerated the situation?" Ishtar challenged.
"She did not. And wasn't this the same reason he left his previous school? Your child is not an ordinary child. Take my advice and seek help for him if you want him to lead a normal life. Perhaps he behaves differently around you, which is why you may not believe us. His tuition fees will be refunded immediately. Thank you for coming."
Mrs. Alvarez then called Ryan's teacher and instructed her to show Ishtar where he was. Ishtar was led to a classroom where Ryan was sitting quietly, his hands resting between his thighs. He was so quiet and didn't even look at who had come into the room. His posture broke Ishtar's heart. What have they done to her son? She thought.
"Ryan, your mum is here." The teacher announced.
Ishtar went to him and took him into an embrace. She doesn't care what everyone was saying about her child. He is hers and she loves him so much that she would sacrifice her life so he could be happy.
"Hey, are you okay?" She asked silently and he nodded.
"Mummy is here, everything will be alright. Let's go home."

"Ahh, why doesn't he want me? I've done everything to earn his favor! I must become his Luna; I cannot afford to lose this opportunity. I can't!"
Eugenia's anguished cry filled the air as she stood before her reflection, her eyes locked on the image staring back at her from the mirror. She had pushed everything on the dressing table onto the floor. Despite her undeniable beauty, she found herself unable to understand why Adonis has been rejecting her. She possessed the beauty of a goddess, her figure sculpted to perfection, her mind sharp as a blade, and her dancing skills unmatched.
When she turned eighteen, she rejected her mate because Luna Grace, Adonis' mother, had promised her that she will be betrothed to her son which will make her the next Luna. Since then, she had never taken her eyes and attention off him. She even agreed to be one of his concubines, with the hopes of getting his attention. After six years he is still not interested in her which angered her.
She had heard rumors about his first girlfriend, the maid. Some said she was banished, while others claimed she had died meaning if she was his mate, then he is mateless now and nothing could stand in her way of making him hers.
"Eugenia!" Her twin sister's voice broke through her thoughts, snapping her back to reality.
"Huh, what is it, Estonia?" she responded, shaking off her reverie.
"The question is, what's wrong with you, sis? I've been calling you since you entered this room, and why is this place so messy?" Estonia queried, noticing her sister's distracted state.
"Nothing, I'm fine," Eugenia replied dismissively.
"No, you're not. I'm your sister and best friend. I know when something is bothering you. Now out with it."
Eugenia sighed heavily and flopped onto the bed. "It's Adonis. He still doesn't see me as a woman; he only sees me as a concubine. I'm tired of this. I need to have him."
"Oh, sis, I'm sorry to hear that. I know how hard you've been trying to get his attention. It's a shame he's blind to see how beautiful you are," Estonia sympathized.
"Then I'll make him see," Eugenia declared determinedly. "But how?"
The kind of love Estonia has for her sister makes it impossible for her not to think about her happiness hence she would do anything to make her happy. This same love drove her to come up with a plan.
"I have an idea!" She blurted out excitedly, beckoning Eugenia closer so she could whisper her plan.
"Damn! I never thought of that. You're a genius, sister. No wonder you're the smarter one," Eugenia praised, her happiness glistering in her eyes.
"Thank you. If this doesn't work, then I don't know what will," Estonia replied.
"I hope it works. I can't imagine living without him. I need him to survive."
"You will have him. Now we need to prepare. I heard he'll be coming to Visiondale on the next full moon."
"That's tomorrow?" Eugenia asked, her eyebrow raised in confusion.
"I know. That's why we have to start preparing. And hey, don't worry, this will work. He's your mate, remember?"
"But do you really think he'll fall for it? I rejected him, and I haven't seen him in six years. Our bond has likely been broken long ago."
"Relax, I know what to do. Leave everything to me."
Ishtar's POV
I entered the house with Ryan, feeling the ache in my tired feet. With a sigh of relief, I tossed the car keys onto the living room table and collapsed onto the couch. A headache was beginning to build up, and hunger gnawed at my stomach.
"Hey, why are you back so early?" My mum's voice floated down from the top of the stairs. I could tell she had come out of her room to see who had just entered her house.
"Ryan, sweetheart, can you go to your room? I need to talk to Nana," I requested, and he nodded before heading off.
"What's wrong, Ish? You don't look well. Did something happen to Junior?" my mum questioned worriedly.
"He's been expelled again, Mum," I muttered.
The ringtone of my phone pierced through the room, only adding to the intensity of my headache. I wished I could ignore it, but seeing that it was Ms. Rodriguez calling, I reluctantly answered.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Ms. White. I know our meeting time has long passed, but something urgent came up, which is why I'm late. Can we reschedule?" Ms. Rodriguez's voice came through the line.
"Oh, yes, sure. I will," I replied almost immediately, feeling relieved that I wouldn't have to go out again. But didn't Paula pass on my message?
"Okay, thank you. Enjoy the rest of your day," she said before ending the call.
"Bye, dear," I muttered, placing the phone back on the table.
"What happened? What did he do this time?" Confusion and worry were written boldly on my mum's face. Her grandson is her pride and joy, and like me, she only wants the best for him.
"They said he's so aggressive, and I don't understand why, Mum. He's just four. How can a little cutie be dangerous? Please help me understand this," I pleaded, my eyes glittering with unshed tears.
"I'm as confused as you are, dear. I don't understand what's happening... Wait a minute, oh no! No, this isn't possible!"She gasped, her eyes widely opened as if she had realized something.
"What? What, Mum? What's not possible?"
"You know we're not entirely human, right? We live among humans, but we're not one of them."
"Yes, I know. What does that have to do with Ryan?"
"What I'm thinking is impossible because he's just a kid. But we need help. I know someone who can help. He's called the Seeker. He's like a doctor for werewolves. He's in the best position to explain Ryan's behavior to us."
"No, Mum, I'm not going to Visiondale if that's where this Seeker is."
"Actually, he's in this city. I bumped into him some time ago. He was also banished a long time ago."
