Ishtar's POV I was enjoying my sleep, reaching the best part of my dream where everything I aimed for was finally working out. Then, the killjoy made its entrance. My alarm clock rang louder than ever, jolting me awake and making me whine in annoyance. With my face buried in the pillow, I reached out to turn it off, eyes half-open. I thought I had silenced it, but I had only snoozed it. Determined to return to my dream, I forced myself back to sleep, trying to pick up where I had left off. Just as I was about to drift off again, the clock rang out a second time. This time, it succeeded in pulling me fully into the sober light of morning.
