Chapter 10 - Present - Richard
As if his world had utterly vanished, again, Callum's emotions were a mess amidst his thoughts while his body didn't seem to be his own.
Voices, noises, smells, lights, even the simple blanket over his body felt different against his skin.
Everything about his senses was strange as his guilt slowly killed him inside without him even imagining yet that he was no longer a simple Human.
... Memories of when he had turned into a wolf erased as a self-defense mechanism due to everything he had to dealt with in the last few hours, which was just too much for a mind that had just woken up from an endless coma...
Losing control of his breathing, Callum unconsciously tried to look for help, almost falling out of bed if it weren't for the arms of his son, who held him easily.
However, when his eyes met again with William's, everything just seemed to become even worse as the young man was no more one of the sweet angels he wanted so much to see.
Pushing Liam away as he found the strength in his legs again, Callum slowly thought that his younger version had become the terrible devil that he no longer wanted to look at due to his own guilt.
... But badly, he knew about how bad it was to his body, which was still trying to get used to what he was now...
With his breathing still shallow, the man ended up having to lean on the nightstand that existed besides the bed, scratching the piece of wood as claws emerged in place of his nails, startling him when he opened his eyes again and saw his hands.
"W-what... What is going?" Trying to remain calm, unable to, he wondered aloud as the whole thing was simply too much for him.
The tears in his eyes soon mingled with a look of confusion as his body continued to shift without his permission due to Callum's messy emotions.
"Dad... Please, you have to calm down..." Whispering, Liam tried to help him, realizing then that it would be better to avoid speaking in his usual voice while his father was like this. "You need to calm down so I can explain to you what's going on..."
Although he had seen Callum turn into a wolf earlier, William was still very shocked to see the older man go through this transformation.
And while he imagined how confusing it all must be for him too, the young Werewolf also called himself stupid in his mind for allowing his emotions to win over him. And he ended up telling his father something Richard had asked him not to mention for the time being.
... He knew that his adoptive father only had the best of intentions while doing it, so he quickly agreed with him, promising him that he wouldn't say anything...
"Dad..." Calling for Callum once again uselessly, William could easily see what a foolish thing he had done...
Thus, carefully picking up the item from the small table next to the door that the nurse had given him earlier, he cursed himself a few more times before approaching his father as if he were a wounded animal.
No, he had never dealt with wild animals before. However, that was something anyone would learn in Pack's training when someone was injured in their wolf form... The reaction was basically the same, even if many wouldn't like to admit it.
"I'm sorry." Taking advantage of Callum's moment of distraction as he realized how close his son was to him, Liam skillfully sedated him for the second time in that short time.

"He became what?"
"As I said... He turned into his Werewolf shape this time." Turning around his eyes in an attitude he rarely had, but which reminded me of his mother, Liam answered me like a small child who didn't want to show his grades to his parents.
And as I remembered the few times he had done this in the past, I knew that the fact Callum had transformed into his Werewolf form was not as simple as William's words made them seem to be...
"What happen-" Frowning my eyebrows, I started to ask him before a better question popped into my mind. "No, wait. First, tell me, how is he right now? Did the doctor check him?"
"Yes, he did, and I ended up sedating him like you guys had to do earlier. But don't worry, he had no fever this time, and the sedative is the weaker one you asked them to prepare, so he should be waking up soon, according to the doctor." As if he wasn't talking about his father, Liam spoke to me calmly, yet I could still notice his uneasiness in his voice and unstopping fingers, even if he tried to hide it from me as he used to do in the past...
"I see... I never expected that we would need to use it this quickly." Allowing a sigh to escape my lips, I shared my own concerns with him by saying that simple comment. "... So, now tell me, what did happen to make him shift again?"
Arching an eyebrow, I make sure that he would understand that it was not a simple question as I looked deep into his eyes, wordlessly defining that he wouldn't leave that office until he told me everything.
