chapter 4

Willow.

After 8 long years of bathing in the ice-cold river, it felt wonderful to have a hot bath.

My hair has not been washed in 8 years. I felt 10 lbs lighter with all the dirt washed out of it.

Marry gave me a bra with matching panties, blue jeans, and a black T-shirt. She spent an hour combing out my hair. But when I was all done and looked at myself in the mirror for the first time in 8 years, I was speechless. I had only ever seen my reflection in the creek. I was pretty, my violet eyes were bright and shiny, and now that my golden blonde hair was washed and combed, it reached almost to my knees.

I was stunned.

"You are absolutely beautiful, Willow," Marry said.

"You have grown up so beautifully. And now that you are all cleaned up, let's get you to the Alpha, shall we?"

When I heard the word "Alpha," panic ran through me along with my mother's voice in my head, telling me that Alpha Lucas wanted to kill me.

Marry could see I was panicking.

"Willow my child, it is OK dear, calm down. Look at me, sweetie." She said,

"Just look at me; there you go," she said when I looked at her,

"It is OK, Willow. I give you my word you are safe here. No one is going to hurt you."

"The Alpha is a kind man. Your father is with him as well, my dear."

I calmed down as she spoke. I trusted her as a child, and I believe I can trust her now. She was always good to me. I let her lead me to the Alphas office, where she knocked on the door.

"COME IN"

Marry opened the door and led me inside the office. The 3 men stood to their feet.

" Wow," said Kyle.

"She is so beautiful."

I heard a growl come from the Alpha.

" I am sorry, Lucas. I was just stating the truth," Kyle said.

"She is beautiful, isn't she? Alpha said.

I could still feel our mate bond pull me to him. Mirror saying mate in my head. But I was still so afraid of my mate. I was told over and over again for 8 years he wanted to kill me.

"Oh, dear child," said Marry.

"You are shaking." She strokes my arm.

"You are alright, Willow. Remember what I told you? You are safe here, dear. These men will not hurt you, I promise," she smiles at me.

"Willow, my daughter," my father said.

"Please, will you allow me to hug you?"

I walked over to him and let him hug me. I have missed my father's smell and touch. I have cried many nights just to be able to see and have him hold me again.

I hear my father crying,

"My dear daughter, I thought you were dead, my child. I have missed you so much." He says

I stepped away from him and shyly asked,

"Why did you think I was dead, Daddy?"

"Come, let us sit and talk," said Lucas.

"Marry, thank you for helping, Willow. You can go home now," Lucas told her.

I ran and grabbed her hand.

"Do not leave me, please," I begged her, hanging on to her.

"Ok," said Lucas,

"If you do not mind, Marry, you can stay with Willow if she feels more comfortable with you here."

"Absolutely, Alpha, I will not leave her till she tells me it is OK for me to go. I do not mind at all. Thank you for letting me stay with her."

I looked over at Alpha Lucas, and in a low, shy voice, I said

"Thank you, Alpha."

"Anything for my mate," he said.

"And to make you feel safe, please, my dear, call me Lucas. I am your mate. You never have to call me, Alpha."

Marry walked me over to the couch to sit down. I sat with her and kept holding her hand. I was glad she held my hand back and gave it a little squeeze.

"Marry: Lucas spoke up

" What is talked about and found out here tonight is not to leave this office?"

"You have my word, Alpha. No one will even hear Willow is alive from me or any other information here tonight. Unless you ask me to speak about it, "Marry says.

"I know, Marry," Lucas smiled.

" You are a very honest and loyal person."

"Willow, do you remember anything about the day you were taken by the Rogue?" My father asked me.

I looked at him, puzzled.

" I was never taken by Rogues, father," I said.

"Do you remember how you got to the cabin?" Kyle asked me.

"Yes, my mother took me there when I was 10, the same day the rogues were attacking, and I shifted into my wolf," I answered.

"SHIFTED?" The 3 guys said together, and I leaned in to marry.

"It is OK, child; you are not in trouble. Just tell them what you remember when they ask, OK? she said, patting my hand.

"We are sorry, Willow," said Lucas.

"We did not mean to scare or startle you. Can you explain what you meant when you said you shifted?" he asked.

"I remember the pack was under attack by Rogues. My mother ran to me and grabbed me," I said.

"I remember her grabbing you," said Lucas.

"We were all playing by the river."

"Yes, I remember that too. Mother and I ran towards the bunker, but I fell to the ground in a lot of pain. It felt like my body was breaking and being ripped in half." I said.

" My mother picked me up and ran into the woods behind the bunker. I remember after a long time of being in pain and my bones breaking, it all stopped, and my mom was staring at me. She then said, "they will kill you; they will take what is mine." She then shifted, picked up my wolf in her mouth, and ran a long time till we hit the cabin."

"Did she ever tell you why she brought you there to the cabin?" Lucas asked.

"She said I was a very bad girl," tears were forming in my eyes,

"She said, My Wolf Mirror is evil," I let my tears fall.

Marry pats my hand,

" You are doing great, child," she said.

"she kept always saying, because I was a bad girl and my wolf was evil, people wanted me dead. She said I had to stay in the cabin and never wander far from it. If anyone were to find me, they would kill me, "I told them.

"She kept telling me over and over. You are bad; your wolf is evil. Everyone wants you dead. She told me I could not trust anyone other than her." I am full out crying now,

"The alpha wants me dead. They will use me for evil and kill me."

" I do not understand," I said, jumping to my feet and running over to the corner where I sat on the floor with my knees to my chest rocking back and forth.

"I am bad; I am evil. They are going to kill me," is all I kept repeating over and over, rocking myself in the corner.

"Willow child?" Marry said, kneeling beside me.

"Did she ever tell you why you are bad and evil?

I shook my head no.

"I do not understand. I was good. I never did anything bad. My wolf is kind. She is not evil. I do not understand," I said.

" My mother just kept saying trust her; she is protecting me. I would be dead if anyone found out about me. "

"Found out what?" Kyle asked.

"I do not know," I said.

"I never understood; I just know that the alpha wants to kill me, that everyone will kill me."

"I am bad, I am evil, I am bad, I am evil." I kept repeating over and over.

"You poor child," said Marry.

"She turned to the Alpha. Why would a mother do this to her own pup?"

"That is what we are trying to figure out," Lucas answered her.

That same night, Lucas said,

"Your mother came back and told your father and the whole pack that the Rogues took you away from her and killed you right in front of her."

"She said you were dead. We all thought you were dead, Willow."

I stopped rocking and looked over at my father.

"Mother said you did not want me because I was bad. She said everyone was looking for me to kill me." I said.

"Oh my god, no Willow, no one wants to kill you. No one was looking for you. We all thought you were dead," he says.

"NO NO NO," I said, hitting my legs.

"You are going to kill me. You found me. I am a very bad girl; my wolf is evil. You are going to kill me. "

"GET AWAY FROM ME. YOU ARE ALL GOING TO KILL ME. YOU ARE GOING TO KILL ME. You are going to kill me. I am very bad, I am evil, I am bad, I am evil, and they will all kill me." I kept rocking back and forth, repeating it over and over. I could not stop; my mother's words just kept playing over and over in my head.

"Kyle, call the doctor," said Lucas.

Lucas

I could not believe what I was hearing. It is like Tammy brainwashed her to think she was bad and evil, and everyone was going to kill her. What kind of mother would do this to their own child? What is it about Willow Tammy is hiding?

"She said she shifted for the first time at age 10?" I said out loud.

"How could that be? No one has ever shifted at the age of 10; you shift at the age of 18. "

There was a knock on the door, and the doctor rushed in.

I filled him in a little on why we called him here.

He watches and listens to Willow repeat her words.

"She is in shock," the doctor said.

"She has been traumatized severely"

"I will give her a sedative to relax, then you will need to help me move her over to the hospital."

He took out a syringe and went to inject her. When she saw the needle, she began to freak out; she was kicking and screaming. Her arms flailed around,

"HE IS GOING TO KILL ME. HE IS GOING TO KILL ME," she was screaming. My heart was broken for her.

"Help me hold her down."

The 3 of us tried to hold her down. But she was so strong. She was overpowering all of us. Her body began to glow blue, she got stronger, and her body was extremely hot.

"Hurry up and inject her," I said to the doctor.

"We can not hold her much longer." Finally, he was able to inject her, her body started to relax, she stopped glowing blue, her body started to cool down, and in her last breath, we heard her say

" Kill me"one last time, then she was out cold.

"I have never felt anyone that strong ever. What is she?"

I need answers. I need my mate well.

Brad

I can not believe my daughter has been alive this whole time. Seeing her this fragile is breaking my heart. She was once a lively pup full of sunshine. Always happy, never missed behaving. How could anyone do this to her?

The doctor gave her something to sleep for the night, so I am heading home for now.

I walked into my house, and her scent hit me.

"I know you are here, Tammy, show yourself."

Out of the coat closet steps, Tammy.

"They are looking for you," I told her.

"I know I will be gone before they can find me," she said.

"Why, Tammy? Why did you hide her from me from the world? I asked

"I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO; that is all you need to know, Brad."

"You have my daughter believing me, and everyone is out to kill her. Why Tammy? She is so traumatized that she had to be sedated."

Tammy just laughs at me

"YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY? YOU TRAUMATIZED OUR DAUGHTER. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? "

"DAUGHTER!" she yelled at me,

"That brat is not my daughter now, is she? Her mother made sure to die having her so she wouldn't have to deal with that brat."

"YOU HELPED ME RAISE HER TAMMY. YOU TREATED HER AS IF SHE WAS YOUR OWN PUP. SHE DOES NOT KNOW YOUR NOT HER REAL MOTHER." I said

"I did what I had to do for you because I love you, Brad. Our mates died. We chose each other, so YES, I took on the mommy role to your brat, but when she shifted at age 10, I knew I had to hide her. I had to make sure EVERYONE thought she was dead. SHE IS MINE Brad, and I will get her back even if it means killing you to get her. "

"Why?" I asked

"Why did you do it? Why did you take my daughter away from me and do all this to her?"

"GOD, you are just as stupid as she is," she says.

"She doesn't even know who and what the hell she is. Oh, but I do. I had to make her afraid; I had to make her believe she was bad and evil, so she would listen to me and stay hidden. She was never to question me, and if anyone were to find her, she was to believe they wanted to kill her. I HAD TO DO IT TO KEEP WHAT IS MINE."

"Why, Tammy? She was only 10 years old, she is my daughter and you took her from me?" I said.

"Who the hell do you think she is?

"I do not think you fool. I know who and what she is."

"WHAT IS SHE WOMAN? TELL ME, WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO MY DAUGHTER?"

"Can you really not figure it out, Brad?" she said.

"Think about it, you fool. She got her wolf at age 8. She shifted at age 10. I stabbed you with silver, and the stupid b***h healed you. If you can not figure it out now, then you are a bigger floor than I thought you were. " She says

"OH MY GOD," I said, shocked.

"Willow is the next moon goddess; she is the descendant of Selene herself."

"Bingo Brad, it is about time, but I am telling you, Brad, she is mine."

"What the hell do you want with her?" I asked.

"I WANT HER POWERS HER Immortality," she laughs,

"And mark my words, Brad. I will have it; I will have it all."

"NO, YOU ARE INSANE. I WILL NEVER LET YOU HARM MY DAUGHTER AGAIN," I yelled at her.

"When the moon is full on her 19th birthday, I will stab her with the knife of Zeus and perform the ritual and take her powers. And there is NOT a damn thing you or anyone can do about it, Brad," she says.

I went to tackle her but she was fast and out the door.

I linked the Alpha to inform him she had just been here and to have the warriors out after her. I told him to double the security on Willow and that I would explain everything to him when I got to the hospital.

I will never let her take or harm my daughter again. I will die before I let it happen.

When I got to the hospital, I pulled Lucas, Marry, and Kyle into the doctor's office to explain to them everything I had learned from Tammy herself. I told them how Tammy is not even her real mother and why she did to Willow what she did and what she had planned to do.

"I WILL NEVER LET HER HURT MY MATE AGAIN," Alpha yelled.

"Calm down, please, Alpha," I said.

"We do not want others to know anything."

"I will be staying with my daughter tonight," I said.

"I will have her moved to a room with no windows, and I would like the guards sworn to secrecy and stationed in and out of her room, please," I asked.

"Certainly, she has to be kept safe and protected. I will make sure everything is set in place, " says Alpha Lucas

"Alpha Lucas," I said.

"I am sorry I overstepped; it is just my"...

"Say no more." Alpha Lucas cut me off.

"I get it, Brad, and I agree with what you want, and, as I said, it will be done. Come on, Kyle; we have things to get done."
