The tension in the room was beyond suffocating, and honestly, I wasn’t in any way phased because this is what it is like to be in my father’s presence. He commands the room with so much hostility that everyone always cowers in his presence, except me.
And he hates it.
He hates that his presence and pheromones don’t affect me in the same way they affect every other person in this pack. Even the elders of the council, who are supposed to be all-knowing, and the oldest of the pack fear him like he is some god. Not that I don’t understand why they are all so afraid of him. I know what kind of Alpha my father is. There is a viable reason why our pack is isolated from the rest of the world, and there are no neighbouring packs for miles away.
