After Max found about Meredith’s past he made everything in his power to make her feel protected and loved. Not a day goes by without showing her how much he loves her, but Meredith is not some fool who doesn't notice when a change occurs and looking at Max she asks him directly after about a week in which he was all the time with her, being always on the alert.
"You found out, isn't it?"
Max looks at her and tries to make a fool of himself and pretend he doesn't know what she's talking about.
"I don't know what you are talking about!" he said and he opens his phone and shows Meredith an invitation trying to direct attention to something else. "Two weeks and the contest will start!"
