Author’s POV
As soon as Max heard that growl almost collapsed. If Meredith could growl that means only one thing. Someone marked her. He lost her. Someone stole his mate!
"Go for her, stupid!" Stark yelled. “Even if Castellano marked her, we can kill him and claim her as ours. There are rules that protect the mate bond, not everything is lost! ”
And realizing that Stark is right he starts to run to the end of the corridor. Every time it must be the last room, the end of the road. In every story the same drama, but yet, Max ran as if his life was behind that last door.
He stops his steps when he just hears a pained “Don’t kill me!” that he stopped from his race. But when the crack of bones follows, as well as Max, James, Landon and Carter are looking at each other in panic.
