Chapter 7 CHRIS I stare at my phone as if it’s going to get me to Rosalyn any faster. I just got back from a run when Ros called, so I needed to shower before meeting her. I know exactly which coffee shop she is talking about. I turn the corner at the end of the brick village hall. I grab my phone and check it. Nothing yet. No messages. No Rosalyn. I see the sign for the coffee shop up ahead. It’s a red awning over two glass doors. I walk in just as a local band is taking their places. Heading to the front counter, I flip out my wallet, dodging the early barista crew that just arrived and is already setting up for an early Friday morning rush.
