Chapter 5

Max POV

"I think you can go from this entrance, wait until the guard shift change, go down to this area, then it was there. Open the save and then go back where you came." Harry showed some of his plan pointing the blue print of the museum where the Dark Diamond necklace will be displayed.

" Is there any additional securities?" I asked him.

" not that I know off, but we still have few more days to check on it, just to make sure" he said.

" Okay, but I need some update about the museum security, at least 2 days before." I said.

" Sure, I'll check if I could find someone to check on it tomorrow." he said.

We plan to steal the necklace 4 days from now and we planed it well.

" Do you need any help?" Alexa came at a sudden.

" What are you doing here? I thought you slept already. " I asked her.

" I was. And I'm thirsty now. " she said as she open the fridge and took a glass of water.

" I could go check on the museum. " she said.

" No, Alexa." I said as I didn't want her to involved to this.

" Max, I will blend in, no one would recognize me. Beside I'm good at observing." she said to me.

" I think she can do it." Harry said. And I glare at him. He raise his hand.

" It's fine, Harry had his man do it." I said. I really don't want her to involved, especially when the FBI investigate. I'm pretty sure the FBI will put on surveillance on this one.

Alexa exhale.

" Fine. Let me know if you need my help." she said as she walked out of the kitchen and went to her room.

" Harry, if there is anything happen, I want you to help her. You know what to do." I told Harry.

" Sure Max. But nothing bad is going to happen." Harry said.

Frank promise me he will left us alone after I did this job. Just to make sure, I already made new ID for me and Julie.

I plan to move after this job done. And I think it was for her best not to stayed with me anymore. I'm an outlaw, I don't want she got the bad impact if I get caught or if a mobster like Frank coming for me. She had everything she need to survive.

Frank come a month ago, he threaten me to do some job, or else he will uncover my real identity, and that's not good for both of us and especially for Julie safety.

The man who kidnap Julie already know my real Identity, as Maximilian Davis, a thief who stole his precious necklace and know his dark side for murdering teenager girl. If frank uncover my identity, he will find me and Julie, and killed both of us. I know that for sure, because as long as both of us alive, we will always be a threat for him, for his political carrier. Yes, he is a man with power, not an outlaw or criminal. That's way Julie and I were threat for him. Both of us will always run from him, and I have to make sure he lost his track on Julie.

" What are you doing Larry?" I asked him when I saw him opening the carburator.

" Check on the carburator?" he told me.

" That car." I told him pointing the other car park nearby. He frowned.

" Are you sure not this one?" he asked me again.

" I'm sure. Go work on that one. " I told him. And he went to the car I pointed. He working on the carburator.

I changed the tired of this red Ford car, unplugged it and carry the tire for gas filled when I step on to a rolling garage accidently and tossed the tire to the air. I can feel my back touch the ground hard and just within second I feel pain as the tire hit down my ankle.

" Awwww!" I scream in pain.

" Are you okay max?" Larry asked me as he run to my direction right away.

Shit! I think I broke my ankle!

Larry and other mechanics help me to stand.

" Can you walked max?" Joe, my other mechanic asked.

" I think I broke my ankle" I said grimming, trying to walked with one leg while Larry and Joe help holding my arms.

" I'll take you to hospital max" Larry said as he walked to his locker and took of his jumper.

Larry get his car and help me in to his car and then drove me to the hospital.

The doctor examined my ankle and took X-ray, CT-scan and MRI.

" Mr. Carter your ankle need to get rest for at least 4 weeks. I'm goingto put a cast on your left legs." the doctor said.

" 4 weeks?" I asked him to make sure.

" Yes," he said.

Damn. How am I going to get the necklace? It was only 3 days from now.

" Can I walk? "

" Sure, with the other legs. I'll have you crutches to help you walked. " the doctor said.

We are doom!! Damn!! Who put the roller garage in that place anyway?

I really had to do the job Frank asked me. s**t!

" Max, are you okay? What happen? " Alexa asked me as soon as she saw me in the hospital.

" I think I broke my ankle" I said, " but I'm fine now"

" Ooh max...can you walked?" she asked me again.

" I can" I said as pointing my crutches beside my bed.

" that bad hah?" she asked and I nodded.

The doctor came and told me I can go home, and had to check my ankle again next week. Alexa help me to get to the car and drove me home.

" It's okay max, get some rest. I will handle the workshop for you until you getting well. " she said. Well it's not the workshop I was afraid of, but it was the other Job.

I called Harry as soon as we get home and Harry came in the next hour.

" My Gosh Max, how did it even happen?" He said half whispering.

" It was an accident. " I said.

" Do you have any idea or anyone who can help us? " I asked him. I don't think I can steal with my condition right now.

" let me think. " he said. And he said just in the next 2 second." No. And we are screwed"

Damn. Even Harry can't think of an idea.

" I can help" Alexa said at a sudden.

" No" I said right away.

" let me help you max. You can't do it with your leg injured." she said.

" I've seen you before. And I think I can do it." she said, just tell me what to do. "

" I think she is right" Harry said.

" I said No, Harry! " I glare at him.

" Max... Do you want to have the job done or not? I think she can do it. I've seen her practice with you. She is good." Harry told me.

I know Alexa can do it. I teched her all I have. She know how to broke a safe box, even with what the museum had to secure the necklace.

She move fast, she learn gymnastic on her high school, which make her agile. She practice with me, but she never done it in real job. And real job is different. You need to focus and paid full attention to surround you. You don't know what waiting for you up front.

" Come on max, at least let me know the plan detail and I'll decide wether I can do it or not." she said trying to convince me.

Harry raise his brow on me.

" Give her a try max. For the safe of both of you." Harry said.

" Okay." I finally said. " but you have to listen to me carefully. "

" Okay max" she said nodding

And then we told her all the planned we have.

" I need to see the museum and where they kept it." she said.

" Today is the opening seremony. A lot of people came. It will easier for you to blend in without the security notice." Harry said " I have an idea"

" What Idea?" I asked.

" Do you have working suit? Like the one reporter wear?" Harry asked Alexa.

" I think so. I have some when I had a job training" she said.

" That's good," he said

" What's your plan?" I asked harry

" There were media coverage for the necklace this afternoon. I think I can make a reporter ID and put Alexa on the list." he said.

" That's sound great. What time is it the media coverage? Alexa said

" at 4. We still have 2 hour to prepare.", Harry said. And then Harry call his friend to make the preparation, while Alexa prepared her self.

An hour later Harry's man came and bring the stuff we need. At 3.30, Alexa is ready with her red hair wig, and she looked totally different. She looked a mature women, a smart reporter.

Harry gave her a glasess with camera like I used to use. And then he drove her to the museum.
