Chapter 6

Alexa POV

" Are you ready?" Harry asked me.

" Yes," I said. I was a little bit nervous. I have scout for him before, but this was different. I was scouting for my self, realizing I will steal a precious guarded necklace.

" This is your reporter ID, you have to report to the media centre right over there. " Harry told me pointing to the media centre not far from us. Then I looked at the reporter ID with my disguise picture, Madison Fowler, Beading Daily Magazine.

" Just blend in, and paid attention to the securities, to the safe, to the neclace, CCTV--", Harry told me anything I should paid attention. And I already know all of it. Max told me all that things before.

" Okay Harry" I said.

" Becarefull Alexa" he said. I nodded, open the car door and walked to the media centre.

In the media centre I reported and filled my attendance and then they gave me a reporter passed. Not long, the museum director gave some speech before he lead us inside the museum to showed us all the jewellery that being exhibited.

I looked around, from outside the building to the entrance and paid attention to all the security tools, the guard, CCTV, the roof and the location of the necklace.

I spot on Agent Hampton and agent Gray not far from where I stand with the others reporter. I walked behind other reporters and paying attention surround me and passing Agent Hampton.

" Excuse me Miss," I stop walking as I hear Agent Hampton voice. Is he calling me?

" Miss Fowler?" he called again right behind me.

I turned around and found him right in front of me.

" Yes?" I asked him as I staring at his blue orb. And that was a beautiful one.

" I think you drop this." he said.

" What?" I asked as I still mesmerized with his beautiful eyes.

" This, your ID" he said. " Miss Madison Fowler" he said as he read the name in the ID card.

" Oh yes, that's me." I said.

" Please call me Maddie"

Shit! what am I saying?

" okay, Maddie. This is your ID" he said smiling and giving me my ID card. Oh gosh, why he smile? Let me buried my self right now!

" Thank you...? " I said

" Jack Hampton" he said, " call me Jack"

Oh okay, he introduced him self as Jack. Not Agent Hampton. Is it a good sign or bad sign?

" Thank you Jack" I said.

" so, you work for the Beading Magazine?" he asked me. Was he trying to make a conversation or investigate?

" Ya, it's Beading Daily Magazine actually." I said. Okay Alexa, stop making conversation, and go with the other reporter. This is a red code! My inside warn me.

" What do you think about the jewelery here Maddie ?" he asked me.

" They are beautiful, rare, and valuable of course. " I said smiling.

" hmmm valuable.. How much do you think this necklace worth?" He asked me as he walked me to the black diamond necklace.

" let's see..." I said looking at the necklace carefully. This is a good chance to take a looked the necklace closed without being suspicioned.

I walked around the necklace and I remember Harry and Max told me about the neclace.

"I say... 30-40 million." I told him.

" Impressive" he said. " you know a lot about jewellery Maddie."

" oh well, it was nothing if you work writing about jewellery." I said in jokes.

" Right." he said looking at me.

" No wonder some people tried to stole the necklace" he murmered turning his eyes on the necklace.

" really? Someone tried to steal it?" I asked him curious.

" Yes, I have been informed that someone targeting this necklace."

" Informed you?"

" Yes. I'm actually with the Fed." he finally said he is an FBI

" You are an agent?" I asked him pretending surprised.

" yes" he said smiling

" It must be a hard job protecting the necklace." I said

" Don't worry, we add more protection to the necklace."

More protection?

" I'm sure it must be a very effective protection. " I comment.

" We hope so. " He said looking to some direction, and I followed where his eyes were looking. And I found out what the other protection was. It was an infrared alarm device. I saw it planted around the wall.

" Okay, it's nice to meet you Jack. I should catch up with the others. And thank you for returning my card. " I said breaking the ice and saving my self from getting caught.

" No problem Maddie, nice to meet you too." he said shaking my hand.

I turned around and walked to the other reporters and pretending to listen to what the museum director talking about and then paying more attention to the building and area security systems once again.

Harry and I come back to my house. And check again what the camera in my glasses had cached.

" Are you flirt with him?" Max asked as he saw the camera had recorded.

" what? No Max!?" I said.

" Yup" Harry said. What is that supposed to mean? My eyes widen at Harry.

" I really think you shouldn't talked to him" Max said.

" Well, he is talking to me. What am I supposed to do?" I told them both as they both looking at me.

" You can just say thank you and leave" Max said holding his chin.

" Well, he is definitely attracted to you." Harry added still typing something on his laptop.

" He did not. What are you two saying? He asked me about the necklace. It basically his attraction right now. He guard the necklace. And he just asking my opinion about it. That's all" I said.

" Alexa, you risking your self. Next time don't do that." Max said.

" He got the point. If he checking on Madison Fowler and found nothing, then what?" Harry agreed with Max.

" Okay, I'm sorry." I said finally. "But I'm not flirt with him." I keep my argument. And they rolled their eyes on me. Whatever.

" Okay, what do you think about the place? Can you do that? " Max asked me, We started talking serious about the job.

"I know what the additional protection they have. It was an infrared alarm device around this area. " I said as I pointed to hall location where the necklace were on the Museum blue print.

" So they didn't remove the necklace, it stayed there, with infrared alarm, CCTV, and bars in the entrance door when something trigger the alarm. "

" I think the only way in is from the roof, and then I will down right here." I pointing to the laptop monitors where it show the necklace.

" this steel truss can hold my weight directly to the necklace. Take it and go" I said.

" And how much is your weight?" Harry asked me

" 48 kg" I said. And he nodded. I guess it can work.

" I need you to practice walking on truss, and climbed up the rope. Harry, you need to do something with the surveillance camera, especially this one." max told Harry and me.

" Okay" I said.

" I got this" Harry said.

" I have some device I need you to put in one of the camera cable." Harry asked me.

" Okay" I think I know which camera is the nearest one.

" Okay, I think everything is ready now." Harry said" and I want you to tried this Alexa. "

Harry gave me a cloth in a plastic bag.

" I make that one for you. Tried if that suit you or not" he said.

" Okay," I said as I walked to the bathroom and try the cloth Harry gave me. It was a blackout complete body suit with head cap covering half my face and a pair of black ballet shoes. Now I really like a thief.

I come out and show them the cloth I wear.

" perfect, it will cover you well in the dark." Harry said.

So that's all the planned, and I practice everyday with max and Harry. Walking on truss without noise and climbing up and down the rope and everything that I might need including physical exercise, running and combat. Max make sure I'm ready with all the possibilities, even if I get caught. And Finally the day is came.
