The next day in the Starlight Productions conference room…
The next day Shade stood beside a large window looking down on the city. She was here to read for her role in Rain and was a bit nervous. She held a script in her hand that she had received the day before by courier and now looked down at it periodically, mouthing the words when she heard someone open the door. She turned, her bold, red lips lifting in a smile when she saw Jerry.
“Hello, Shayde,” Jerry said. “I’m so happy you have consented to read for me. I’m sorry that I can’t just hand you the part, but rules are rules. I hope you’re not insulted.
