I called Chip at EnerGen to give him an update. Then I texted Lee a brief summary of the day’s drama, and he responded with a request to come over after work to help out. I sent him the address.
Lastly, I contacted the management office at my apartment complex and informed them I would be breaking the lease. I got the spiel about lost deposits and money owed, then told them I’d be moving out on Saturday.
By the time I finished with all the calls, Rhys had returned and put away the groceries in the kitchen. It was four o’clock in the afternoon.
“Everything done?” he asked after gulping down a bottle of water. He was sweaty from the trip and it was humid outside.
“Yeah. I’m off for the rest of the week, and I’ll move out of the apartment on the weekend.”
