I recycle zombies in the Apocalypse

Atlas Lab

Miss Kim who was curious and nervous wanted to learn about the outcome of what might have happened inside. Though, she desires to leave that environment as soon as possible. As she was busy looking around, troubled, and not at peace. She saw Prof and Jamison rushed out from the main building towards the entrance gate. She called the attention of her boss, Dr. McQueen, “Sir look!” she said pointing in their direction. Suddenly he turned and saw Prof and Jamison running towards them with deadies behind. He turns on the engine as Miss Kim opened the door and screamed: “Get in!” Prof and Jamison made their way into the car as Dr. McQueen drove off. The deadies are now outside the lab and some making their way outside the gate. The lab not being far from houses made it easy for the deadies to have access to many homes in that area. The noise attracted them towards people as many deadies were making their way inside the streets

Walking with the sound that draws their attention, they attacked many people living around that area, lunging at their victims. And from street to street they were spreading like wildfire. The way some of the deadies moved slowly on the road caused huge traffic and accidents. The horn of many vehicles became louder as all were trying to get to their destinations. Not knowing what was happening, a lady who is late to work got down from her car to yell at dead standing few blocks away in front of her, “Hey punk, get your silly ass off the road!” she yelled.  Unfortunately for her, two deadies from behind grabbed her hands and ripped them apart. As she screamed in pain; people now realized what was happening and many began to flee from their car and run on foot. Some who were at home began to lock their doors and windows. Many who left their car tried reaching those inside to let them in but they received no positive response. The neighborhood is now in chaos as the deadies dragged their body, walking the streets.

Police sirens were heard from afar, as the police were making their way to the scene.  The road of the streets has been painted with blood. The police began to fire shots in the air to disperse the deadies. The warning shots could not help as the deadies are now moving towards the police as their sirens draw them closer. The lead captain ordered the deadies with a megaphone to go down on their knees slowly and put their hands on their head. But the bad part of it is that the deadies can’t understand what he was saying. Of course, they are dead. The lead captain can’t tolerate it anymore and ordered his troops to release fire.

They kept their shots coming as they ran out of bullets, and with the shocking look on their face, they looked at each other as the deadies kept coming their way. The captain being the first in the front line was grabbed and his hand bitten. The other policemen began to fight back as they reloaded their guns. But most of them could not make it. Some retrieved and went back to the station, carrying some of their co-officers bitten by the deadies to the hospital. Some officers that their bites were not severe returned to the station.

Meanwhile, Dr. McQueen, Prof, Mss Kim, and Jamison just arrived at the Atlas lab instructing the security men to lock down the building, "No one goes in or out for now," he said as he called emergency meeting including the security men, janitor, and drivers. He gave them a brief memo of what is happening downtown and asked them if they would want to stay here or go back home to their families. The majority of the workers said they have nothing to do here if this story was true. Dr. McQueen ordered the security men to open the exit door for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, no one should come in or go out. "The security men who would want to stay should guard their post and not leave their post until further notice," Dr. McQueen instructed.

Most of Dr. McQueen’s associates and partners who were at the building mocked him and made a joke of him. Mss Kim by this time is more worried as she could not get hold of the son on the phone or her sister. Prof looking at her saw her face was downcast encouraged her and gave her hope that no matter what, he can still drive her to her sister’s place to check on her son.

Back at the police station, most of the officers bitten by the deadies are now weak and could not perform any task. Since the lead captain is dead, no one was bold enough to take his place. Everyone was still scared and has not heard anything on the news about the outbreak of the deadies.

The central hospital where most of the bitten officers were taken to has already turned into a blood bath zone of the deadies. Doctors and Nurses were bitten and patients could not help as some, were not able to stand from the bed. One of the police officers known as CJ began to fight his way out of the hospital. But as a law officer, he could not let the lives he was supposed to protect die as he watches. He went back to the hospital. Breaking one of the tables, he uses its leg to hit the deadies as he makes his way in. He called for backup but none of his dispatch team was responding. He moved into the children's ward but the door has been shut from the inside. One of the nurses asked, “Who is there?” CJ "It's the police," said CJ as he showed his badge through the glass. Without any delay, they let him in. He asked the nurse if there is any other way. “No other way," she replied. "We are stuck in here,” the Nurse added. “Not on my watch,” officer CJ whispered.

In the Atlas lab, many workers have left the building and the building was locked down, Dr. McQueen, Prof, Mss Kim, and Jamison began to take note of what has happened so far and what they have seen. They want to figure out how to kill the deadies and provide a cure if necessary. As they were taking notes of what happened in Mr. White’s lab, Jamison narrated how the soldiers were shooting the deadies and they couldn’t die.”If we come across a dead we should try to eliminate the dead from the head” Prof said. “No one wants to get close to the dead. I just want to get close to my son!” Mss Kim said with a sad look on her face. “Is alright, I will join Prof to look for your son at your sister’s place,” Jamison said to her. 

At the police station, some of those arrested before the outbreak of the deadies has been stuck inside a holding cell as most of the police officers have turned into deadies. The police officers who have not been bitten try to curtail the bitten officers in one of the holding cells close to where the arrested civilians were. Screaming in a loud voice, they pleaded with the officers to let them out but their plea was not heard. As the officers succeeded in luring the deadies into the next holding cell, they locked it. As they were about walking out, one of the arrested fellows grabbed one of the officers by his arm and threatened to rip it off if they don't let them out.

With fear, the officer pleaded with his fellow officer who was holding the key to the cell to open it. After the cell has been opened, one of the arrested fellows said, “Officers, we are in this together, treat us like partners and not as criminals. We can send these bitches back to where they belong, just see us as partners.” Working together with the remaining officers they built a defense wall with patrol cars around the station. “We are now fighting deadies and not a crime, let's watch each other’s back, but we have to find a way to kill the deadies at the holding cell, they stink,” one of the officers said. “Haha! Kill the deadies and they kill us with stink” replied one of the arrested fellows.

Back at the hospital, officer CJ has began to look for an exit near the children's ward. Most surviving patients and hospital workers were communicated using the telephone in the children’s ward to call other wards. Some wards telephone rang and no one picked up. Therefore they assumed that the deadies has taken over that particular ward. As officer CJ was looking for an exit, he encountered lots of the deadies. Some gave him a hard time and luckily for him he was not bitten. He made sure each dead he encountered was locked up for a clear exit.

Most men who came to visit thier family or a friend in the hospital saw his boldness and, joined him to clear the exit so that they can easily move without any dead following them. As they made their way outside, some deadies were seen walking outside the hospital. Immediately they began to find a way to block them from reaching out to them. They had to let go of one of the ambulances, using it against them as it blocked the deadies from reaching the exit they found. 

Vehicles were procured and Officer CJ with the men went back inside to call out people in their ward. Officer CJ made sure that no one who survived was left behind and all entered the vehicle to the station. Reaching the station, he radios his fellow officers to make way for them to drive in. Many deadies tried to find their way in forcefully but as CJ drove in, he crushed the head of the deadies. Officer CJ was angry as he poured out his wrath on his fellow officers and asked them why they have not responded to the backup call. None was able to give a convincing reply. Officer CJ being the high-ranked officer in their station began to radio the office of the police commissioner but there was no response.

Back at the Atlas lab, Dr. McQueen has permitted to let Mss Kim go look for her son with Prof and Jamison. But before that, as the leading science lab in the state, he used their radio wave to pass messages across to many, letting them know how the deadies can be killed and they should not come near anyone bitten as they have found that if bitten, one can be infected.

As he was informing the public of their discovery, officer CJ was wondering where the radio wave was coming from. Then he asked one of the officers to trace the wave. “This man knows so much and we have to look for him and find a solution to this deadies mayhem,” Officer CJ said. He was not happy that many officers have been lost. And he addressed all the people that followed him back from the hospital and ask them to be considerate with one another. “The doctors here and nurses can provide healthcare for us but we have to look for food supplies to keep fit,” Officer CJ said. “It’s already getting late,” one of the nurses said, "Maybe we should look for shops to buy food supplies by morning,” the nurse suggested. “Good idea,” they all said as they smiled.

The next day, Mss Kim, Prof, and Jamison were already on their way to Kim’s sister’s house, where Jackson was staying. The deadies have already taken half of the city. Government officials still can’t stop the spread. The governor has already declared a state of emergency and has contacted the federal government. The federal government of the country has already deployed troops to that city to curtail the spread and the movement of people. Some roads were blocked to avoid the deadies entering into the unaffected areas. Whereas, the other part of the city has been outnumbered by the deadies.
