As soon as Eve left, closing the door behind her, Richard cried even more. This is exactly why he did not want to revisit his past. He had made it clear that he did not want to talk about it but Eve insisted on it hence he didn't have a choice but to talk.
The pain of his infertility and losing his baby hit him hard and he started sobbing. He had never actually moaned that loss. He has always put this front that he had it all together but that was not the case. He couldn't handle it anymore.
He felt that Eve did not understand him and that is why he asked her to go. He wanted her to go away for good maybe because he expected her to understand him but that was not the case. She was not an understanding girlfriend.
