The dark room slowly began to illuminate as the sun's gentle rays seeped through the curtains. Rain and I spent the entire night talking, the sound of our voices filling the room, and I held her tightly in my arms the entire time. Despite her haunting past, discussing it seemed to bring her some solace, and I felt a sense of relief as we engaged in open communication. Deep down, I knew that the dangers we faced extended beyond the undercity. Now aware of her rare powers, I couldn't dismiss the possibility of her family or others coming for her. I needed to be prepared to protect her. When I promised her that I would accompany her back to the land of dragons and Fae, I meant every word. We were destined to be together.
