Rain POV "Mmm, why did you let him leave? He is so tasty,"A voice I had not heard in years purred seductively in my mind. I recognized it immediately as the voice of my dragon, Aneira. "So kind of you to finally wake from your hibernation of pity," I responded back, my thoughts tinged with a mixture of annoyance and relief at her return. "Don't blame me, you're the one who keeps me trapped all the time," she huffed indignantly in my head. "It's not like we have a choice. I've kept you locked away to protect both of us," I retorted, feeling a pang of guilt for the isolation I had imposed on her. I hated how this hurt my dragon.
