“I'm sorry we're late,” Mary said, as the two of them climbed up the stairs to Evey's condo. “We went to the library this afternoon for one of their reading programs. They had a woman dressed up as a princess reading 'Cinderella,' and Becca was just entranced. I wouldn't have been able to get her out of there with a crowbar. When she was done she went up to her and asked her all sorts of questions about her dress and her tiara and everything. I'm pretty sure I know what she wants to be next Halloween.”
